Padded backpack straps with adjustable sternum strap. Edit: a few years have gone bag and this bad is still like new. I've used it for all kinds of trips including extended travels throughout Europe. It is comfortable for all day wear. I would recommend this bag. Good for personal size carry on bag.

Excellent back pack. Used it during our travels in Italy and loved it. Light weight and comfortable. The anti theft features are really easy to use and the back pack can hold quite a bit.

Pros: This is a very durable, compact backpack for traveling. Fits under the airplane seat, practical security features (once you understand how to use the zipper locks and strap lock). We took it to the pool at a resort we were staying at and used the detachable strap to lock it to one of the lounge chairs so we could keep a cell phone in it (teenager!); worked great, even my family members who knew how to unlock the bag took a while so it was a helpful deterrent. Unlike the 25L version of the Vibe backpack, this 20L version has stretchy mesh side pockets, which I find to be more useful: besides the usual drink bottle or umbrella, I've even stuffed a cardigan in one of the pockets (I am 5'2" so my cardigans aren't very big, but still!). The pockets have, so far, not torn or stretched out of shape. The pack is utilitarian enough for a hike, stylish enough for a day trek in the city. Also, even though I'm petite, the placement of the straps is not too far apart like some other packs that are meant for taller/wider individual. Because the chest strap can be positioned higher or lower on the shoulder straps, I get a fairly good overall fit (however, see seating issue below). The organizational pockets are helpful and a hydration pack can be placed in the backpack and the tube fed out through a slot in the top of the pack. Cons: The bag has a longer depth at the bottom (front to back) and is narrower closer to the opening at the top. This makes the bag appear more compact, but it's a little irritating when trying to put in a packing cube that fits great once it's at the bottom of the back but needs to be forced through the narrow opening first. Also, because of how the bag is constructed, when the main compartment of the bag is full, it takes up the space in the front compartment. Try squeezing your hand down into the bottom of that front compartment at that point to remove a snack, tissues, whatever - good luck. So either don't stuff this backpack or be prepared to not use the full length of the front compartment. Additionally, I find the insert in the backing to be a bit stiffer than I'd like. Because I'm petite, the straps are slightly too long and the pack sits too low; a sternum strap would be good, it would be more comfortable if the pack sat higher, but I'm not uncomfortable as long as I don't pack it too heavy and I use the chest strap. The bag also doesn't sit upright due to the angled bottom and doesn't have a strap to attach to a suitcase handle. Even with the cons related to this pack, I still recommend this backpack. The safety features, compact design, and the amount of stuff I can put in it without looking like I put a lot of stuff in it outweigh the things I don't like about this bag. ... show more
