The husband has a very old tire changer. He also has cars with newer style wheels that he doesn’t want to scratch when changing tires . This set of 2 tire disassembly rim protectors are a nice item for him to have. They are plastic , but seem sturdy enough. He did have to adapt one of these rim protectors to fit his tire changer. He ended up cutting the original hole in the rim protector a little bit bigger with his grinder . Once he did that he could use the rim protector easily. I wish I would of had these the last time I changed my TPMS. They help prevent nicking and scratching from the tire iron. I will update at a later date to see how they hold up over time.
