  • Effective and Well Made
Purchased a used car that had a smoke smell in it. Tried cleaning and using odor eliminators, but a smell was still able to be detected. After some research, I thought I would try an ozone generator as a last resort. Item was delivered in very good condition and I used it for 30 minutes in the car. After 20 minutes of use, I started the car remotely and let the air conditioner run for the last 10 minutes of the cycle. The smell entirely disappeared and now, 3 days later, still is not able to be detected. I really anticipated having to do at least 2 to 3 cycles, but 1 cycle has worked for now. Worthwhile purchase at a reasonable price. Seems to be constructed with durable material and is of a good quality. I would recommend it. ... show more

  • Works!
I thought I ruined my vehicle and was thinking of how much I was going to have to spend to have it professionally cleaned. I had about 1-2 gallons of water spill onto my backseat and floorboard and went and used a wet vac at the car wash but that wasn't enough to prevent that damp moldy odor that followed the day after. The smell intensified day by day despite me going in and cleaning using my upholstery cleaner vac. After going online and checking to see what I could do to get rid of the odor I came upon this item. It had great reviews so I bought it. It was super easy to use and got rid of that nasty moldy smell. It did leave a chemical/ozone smell but it wasn't strong. After a day or two the ozone odor was gone. I love it! ... show more

  • Serious piece of equipment - be careful!
This ozone generator is no joke - it can produce ozone in such quantities that are toxic and pose a serious health risk to anyone who uses it or is in proximity to the air it operates in. I purchased this to deal with a mysterious odor in a brand new sports car I recently purchased. Within 10 minutes of opening it up and reading through the small operating manual it comes with, I was using it in my car. So, here are some warnings from my first experience with it: 1) Ozone in quantities this generator can produce are incredibly noxious and smells like chlorine gas. After using the generator in my vehicle, I took precautions as specified in the user manual, and when I approached my vehicle after a few minutes of airing out, the ozone smell was overpowering and nauseating. Plan on airing out your vehicle for a few days at least. I performed the ozone generative cycle for 30 minutes (more on this time below), and after reading more on these ozone generators on the Internet, I found credible sources describing the ozone smell as similar to chlorine gas, and to allow vehicles to air out for several days. My car is a seasonal use sports car and garaged, so being without it for days with the windows down in a weather-protected shelter helps to follow the air out time frame. 2) I found conflicting information for recommended ozone generation times for a vehicle. The operating manual specifies 10 minutes, but a quick table on the box it comes in recommends 30 minutes. I decided to go with the 30 minutes, and it may have led to the long air out time I'm experiencing after using the generator in my vehicle. Perhaps if I'd started out with 10 minutes, the nauseating smell of ozone created by the generator might have dissipated much quicker than the 30 minutes I used it. 3) There should be much stronger warnings about the toxicity of the output of this generator. Ozone is no joke! Sure, you've smelled some when you've used a scanner or a laser printer, but this surpasses that odor by 1000%. Researching the use of an ozone generator on the Internet reveals the lung damage that you can do by inhaling it. After experiencing the nauseating results of using the generator in my car, and the hour it took to air out the car and my garage after opening the car again, I can't begin to imagine using the generator in my house. You also want to make sure you don't overuse the generator for a given space size, as too much ozone can do actual damage to plastics and electronics. You can read of some bad experiences by others who ran into problems when using ozone generators. Use it sparingly! Finally, the results of deodorizing my new car with this ozone generator: It's early, but I'm declaring it a complete success. The ozone odor has dissipated a lot over the last 24hrs, and I no longer can smell any of the mildew/chemical smell that oddly infested this new car with 13 miles on the odometer (likely due to poorly maintained equipment used in cleaning my vehicle as part of delivery by the dealership). The generator is great power, and thus it comes with great responsibility - be careful and use it wisely. ... show more

  • Removed ALL mildew stinge from a flooded car!
Bought a car from a neighbor and it had been sitting for over 5 years in the florida weather, it had plugged up sunroof drains so the rain just went right in to the carpet. It had 3" of water inside for last few months and the moisture killed the radio, dashboard, many electronics, seats had mold on them and few more delicious things.. After gutting the car out, air drying it for 2 weeks and washing the seats, carpet and upholstery, the car smelled less like a sewer and more like a wet dog. I used up 2 can of most powerful fabreeze spray and it helped for few days but the wet stinge came back and everytime the door was opened, you got a welcoming cloud moist wet and steamy smelly air, like a flooded basement.. Did some research and I wasn't going to use some special chemicals or chlorine bombs because that stuff smells bad! The someone mentioned an ozone machine. Found this one and gave it a shot; Here's what happened.. Closed doors and vent, turned it on for 30 minutes, waited 30 minutes after it finished then opened the windows to air out.. At first sniff, the car smelled like it was ionized and didn't smell like mildew, more like a smell of a surgical office. Next day, the ozone smell was a lot less but the smell of mold was still there at low levels, i could smell it. So i using this machine again for 30 minutes and this time i left the doors closed for 3 hours so the ozonated air could penetrate deeper into the seats and cracks. After that treatment, the car no longer smells like mold or wet dog, it doesn't even have a smell of the ozone air, it smells like nothing! I took clorox wipes and wiped the whole inside and the car smells better clean. It works for sure, but if you're trying it for your house, it's not gonna be very effective on solid items like walls and floors, those need to be wiped first to remove top dirt, then you can run this and if it doesn't remove smell from the wall, then paint it! The ozone machine is best for clothes, fabrics, synthetics and items that absorb smells like sofas and couches. A little education goes a long way.. ... show more
