When I first go this I was disappointed by the water flow. I am using it in a duck pond to push water to the filter and I was not getting any more flow out of it than the previous pump that had half of the claimed flow rate of this one. After some research I realized that it was my fault! I was using 3/4 inch poly pipe to carry the water from the pump to the filter. I grew up on a resort that was completely plumbed with 3/4 inch poly. The pipe runs hundreds of yards under the ground carrying water from the well to the cabins, camp ground, etc. How could that not be enough for this pump sending water 6 feet? As soon as I swapped the 3/4 inch pipe for 1" tubing it was suddenly a gusher! Since that point a couple of months ago this thing has been pumping like crazy and does not clog with duck poo like the previous one did. This thing is very solid, and you can feel the quality when you pick it up, or really do anything with it. I would absolutely buy this one again! ... show more

Just installed in on my sunsun double box filter. I used a single box filter last year and uprgaded. The unit states it excepts up to a 3100 GPH unit. I'm watching to make sure it doesn't overflow. My my 3000 gph pump is working flawlessly.

I have used the more expensive SmartPond Waterfall pumps for years. It seems SmartPond's latest pumps are not as good as they used to be as the latest one I purchased only worked a few months and just felt cheap/was extremely loud in our pond. I purchased this OYO pump to replace the SmartPond WPR3600. Right out of the box the OYO pump feels very sturdy. Once I placed the OYO pump in my pond, it was nearly silent but the water output for our waterfall was perfect. I am very happy with my purchase on this one. Something to keep in mind is the cord is longer than other pumps I have purchased. However, I like this as it gave me more room to have the plug into an outlet. ... show more
