I usually buy this hay at petsmart but sometimes I can't go out and but it so I but it here. My guinea pig loves it so much that he jumped in the bag! Yeah it's messy with the small crumbs but nothing too dramatic. The hay does turn brown after a while. The quality is fine and the texture is rough but it's very easy for my guinea pig to eat. I give my two female guinea pigs orchard grass for a change occasionally instead of Timothy hay all the time. When I give them the orchard grass they love it. I like it too because it’s softer than the Timothy hay.

The soft stuff is great for hamsters But I had to go through the bag and take out all the hard pieces of hay (which was a lot). Honestly, I think my hamster could care less about having it in her cage though. She does not eat it or collect it for bedding. But it smells good!

I love the Oxbow hays, I got sick of the junk at the petstores being mostly either sticks or dust!! I give my guinea pig this (Orchard Grass) the Oxbow Botanical and the Oxbow Meadow hay. I usually have 2 of these at one time and rotate them for variety, she loves them all, although I think the Botanical is a favorite, I know I love the way it smells!! It is nice that they have a resealable bag, but the problem is, if you don't take a HUGE amount out of the bag the first time, you'll never get it closed again, so I dump the whole thing into a large plastic container, not going to mark off stars for that as it's barely worth mentioning. I've been through about 8 or 9 bags of the various "flavors" of the Oxbow hay and it's always fresh, green and clean. I've never found any strange things mixed in the hay like I've heard about people finding in other hays. This is the only brand I trust!! ... show more
