Repotting can be a mess sometimes. The best thing about this repotting mat is it is designed for quick cleanup. The raised edges keep the soil in one place so it doesn't scatter all over the place. If you have any leftover soil on the mat when you are finished you can simply unsnap one corner of the mat and funnel the leftover soil back into the soil package. These can be used for SO MANY purposes! I got mine for plants-the smallest one to use on my countertops. But I also dye wool for spinning and weaving and this makes a perfect counter protector for those activities.
