  • Works Great! NOTE: Make a bootable USB before installing new SSD
Capacity: 1TB Style: SSD
"They" told me upgrading my Macbook Pro Mid 2015 SSD would be a breeze and it was, sort of.... First, very happy with delivery, shipping, pricing, etc. This is a good product and I'm very pleased with the vendor. Second, I now know how those blind nuns in Belgium feel. You definitely want to have the right tools when unscrewing the back plate. Those screws are tine-knee! Lost one of them in the process. Once opened detaching the battery was tricky. You don't want to just pull up on the tab. It is rubber and it can detach from the actual connection plug. Get a non-metal flat knife and gently pry it up. Replacing the SSD was not too bad. Make sure you have it oriented correctly and be firm but don't force. When replacing the back cover remember to push in the 9 and 3 o'clock positions and you hear two snaps before screwing it back in to place. When it was time to boot it up I used the Internet Recovery (command-R) method. It came up but it didn't see the drive. I thought perhaps the drive was faulty. Turns out you cannot use this method for startup. You should use an bootable USB drive. If you don't have one MAKE ONE BEFORE replacing the SSD. You need to be able to format the drive and the bootable USB has all the necessary tools. At the time of this writing it is day 3 using my disk. Seems to work well. The description of this product include my model (mid-2015). I would make sure that your model (if different) is compatible with this prouct. ... show more

  • Older Macbook air frustrations
Capacity: 2TB Style: SSD
The 2tb ssd came with OS Ventura already installed. OS Ventura is not compatible with 2013 MacBook Airs. The furthest you can go is Big Sur. I would have preferred a formatted ssd instead of having an OS preloaded. To get this drive to work on 2013 MacBook Air follow these steps: First backup your Mac using time machine onto a USB. Unscrew back, replace ssd If you get the folder with a question mark restart Mac Hold command option R when restarting You're now in internet recovery If you get code 2022f while connecting to wifi Go into your router settings and change the dns to 8.8.8.8 as primary and 8.8.8.4 as secondary disk Restart router Turn off macbook, turn back on Hold command option r Internet recovery should now work Takes 2 hours or so but Big sur will be installed When setting up Big Sur use your USB backup to migrate data MacBook air is now setup Change router dns back to its original settings ... show more

  • Fit and worked just as advertised. I recommend this upgrade.
Capacity: 1TB Style: SSD
The OWC drive fit and worked just as advertised. I didn't have any issues with drivers. I used a typical clone process placing my OS on a temporary hard drive, then cloning (transferring) it back onto the OWC drive once it was installed in the lap top. I definitely recommend this drive. Just note that the drive must be pushed and seated all the way into the connection slot. It felt tight pushing it in but it went in fine using a little force. ... show more

  • Could not have been easier!
Capacity: 1TB Style: SSD
I wavered over several memory upgrades for my MacBook Pro but when it came down to it, I picked the OWC 1tb SSD. I could not be happier that I did! Sure all the SSD’s would be relatively easy to install, but it was the tech support and available materials on-line that made the installation and formatting simple and easy! Yes, it costs a bit more than others, but it is completely worth it! ... show more
