  • Update: replacement spool fixed issues. Major clogging/skipping issues.
Color: Tri-color Red Blue Green
Update (original review below). Manufacturer reached out to me after my review and discussed what printing settings I had tried. After some troubleshooting, they agreed to send me a new roll to try. The new roll arrived quickly and after a bit of fiddling I managed to get two great prints out of the new roll. I will say that the filament was a bit more finicky than normal PLA but once I got the settings right it looks great. I attached two pictures above, one showing the quality of prints of an octopus. The initial roll is in front and the completed print is in the background and the second picture. I highly recommend this filament and would not hesitate to buy it again despite the initial issues due to the manufacturer's excellent customer service. I will start off by saying that this filament looks great based on the layers that I could get to print properly. That being said, getting this to print without adhesion and clogging has been impossible for me with various settings. Adhesion to the bed seems great and the first few layers print very well. After a few layers though it seems like the filament begins to clog the nozzle and then skips layers, eventually ceasing to print entirely. I have tried adjusting temperature upward in increments and also slowed down the print speed, but I cannot get good layers. I also hear a popping noise from the nozzle which makes me think that the filament might contain excess moisture. I have tried the exact same file with both normal PLA and PETG and it prints fine which seems to indicate that the culprit is this filament. If you can get this to print successfully I think it would look fantastic, but I have not been successful so far. ... show more

The rainbow PLA printed fine and looks awesome. Had no problems with bed adhesion. The prints turned out awesome. Would recommend this PLA and I will be purchasing again.

  • Broke my printer UPDATED
Color: Tri-color Black Blue Purple
I have been trying every trick I know to get this to work. I have layer adhesion problems every time. Then the nozzle clogged. I took apart the whole extruder and replaced the nozzle and the problems persisted. I changed every setting that could make a difference. Still the problems persisted. I finally put back the esun pla+ I normally use and the printer ran fine and my print was great. The only conclusion is that this filament is not good. Read the other reviews. I should have. UPDATE: The company reached out to me and sent me a new role. It is much better. I have been getting consistently good prints and the color is very cool! I printed at 210 degrees at 50mms. That seems to work. ... show more

  • Works great
Color: 30 Bags & Auto Pump
I've used a few different dry-box storage options, and this one has worked the best for me for longer term storage. I've used about 10 or more bags already and only one hasn't held a vacuum very well. All of the others have stayed very tight for several weeks and appear that they will last for a long time. The bags are a bit tight getting the spools of filament in them. Don't expect to get a large spool in them, but the average size ones do fit. The vacuum pump works very well and will bend the filament spool sides in on partial rolls if you let it. It pulls a much higher vacuum than any of the other pumps I've used before and it gets a great seal on the bag when pumping. The only thing I have to do is remember to raise the bag a bit on a flat object where the pump seals so it will stay flat when getting pulled in tight. I'll definitely be buying this again if I ever need more bags. But since they are reusable, it may be a while before I need more. ... show more

  • Terrific tricolor PLA
Color: Tri-color Red Blue Yellow
I've used this roll for a ton of models, and they all come out looking terrific. The tri colors always make the models fun to look at from different perspectives. No issues printing with this material using Bambu's Generic Silk PLA settings. Printed using a Bambu Labs A1.

  • Looks great but difficult
Color: Tri-color Sky Blue & Rose Red & ...
This silk pla has been the most difficult PLA filament I've used so far. I've switched back and forth to this filament a few times to make sure it's not my printer, at this point, I'm confident it's the filament. The first issue I've had with this filament is adhesion. I've tried many tricks, but to get this filament to work, I need a textured bed, glue stick and running ~5mm/s on my first layer (I usually run 20mm/s). The second issue I've had is clogging. I reserve this filament for prints of ~1hr or less. When I run longer than that, it seems much high risk for clogging. I've tried a few temp calibration parts, but I cannot get a traditional temp tower to print, as the clogging seems more likely at the higher temps. However, I'm rating 3 stars because, like I mentioned, this filament looks great and works well for small prints. I'm printing on and Ender 3, filament had been dried. Perhaps higher quality printers will have better luck. ... show more
