So, the rope is new and seems very nice. Not sure how I feel about the stitching to make the loops... looks nice, but I am a little wary about testing their strength. While the rope is nice, I'm not sure what the true strength rating is for it. And because of that I would not use this when injuries or lives would be at stake. The carabiners are cheap, and I'm not sure what their strength rating is. I will use this rope for practicing on the ground and things unrelated to climbing where if the rope were to break, no one would get hurt. ... show more

I added this to my camping/Outdoors backpack, and I have found it to be great for setting up canopies hanging food packs pulling kids out of caves/ravines even climbing trees. While I'm not a professional rock climber I have been able to find many uses for this 10mm rope. Bradding is nice and tight. Rope is thick enough to grab a hold of. Has held up 265lb. without issues. Nice bright color (orange) very easy to see. Great flex and stretch to it. The two carabiners it comes with are a bit stiff but work great and lock solid. Carabiners hold up very well to abuse. Threads are smooth allowing you to unscrew and operate carabiner with one hand. Nicely made with good performance. The price for the length is good and on the lower side average price for this size and length is roughly $30 give or take five dollars. ... show more

The Boy Scout Motto is "Be Prepared." This is one of those items that has so many uses that one kicks himself for not getting it earlier. Whether towing a car, scrambling (not to be confused with a *professional* static line), tree trimming, etc., this fits the bill. The rope is made of polyester so it should be at least as strong in working load and tensile strength as its nylon counterpart. However, the breaking strength is asserted to be 12KN which is somewhat less than the 18KN typical of a 3/8" climbing rope. As well, though the carabiners are a nice touch (and are screw-locking), they are not visibly rated. Personally, I'd replace them with PETZL Am'd Ball Lock (27KN). I got the orange rope -- not only because it is harder to misplace, but it can also double as a "safety flag" by wrapping a few turns around gear extending out the back of a vehicle (mandated by law?). ... show more

As others have said, it's not a rope that I would bet my life on. Is it a good rope? Definitely, I don't have any qualms with the physicality of the rope but... without having a stable brand reputation in climbing and having multiple external certifying bodies test the rope. I would use this as an introductory rope where you're teaching someone about equipment, giving demonstrations, etc. I wouldn't use this outside of those ground teachings or VERY low demo climbs <15ft tall. If you have a private/home gym, this may be fine as well but, would still recommend a reputable and trusted one over this for the price difference vs. your life. ... show more

I got this as a practice rope to play around with and nothing more. It has no certifications and lacks proper labeling. If you climb, you know what I'm talking about. then again, you'd probably never have looked twice at this product. I definitely would never put myself in a position that my life depends on this product. Additionally the carabiners are NOT climbing/load certified and possess every feature you don't want in a carabiner. Finally....parachuting?!? really? do I need to say more on this? ... show more

Firstly, I really do not know much of anything about rope standards and their certifications. The item description for this rope states that it has "CE Certification of EN 892:2012+A1:2016 Standards" but I do not know what that means and there is no actual certifications that came with or on the rope itself. I get the impression that given the fact that it is advertised as a climbing rope, it should have come with other certifications to be deemed trustworthy. With that said, the rope and the carabiners seem robust and durable. I got it to use as a safety line while doing work on the outside of my house and it should work well for that purpose. The rope seems well made and the carabiners are beefy with no sideways play in the spring arm. I personally feel like I can trust it but I am also not going to go climb Mount Everest with it either. The only complaint I have with it is the plastic wear guards used in the rope loops. I just do not see how those are going to hold up over time. ... show more

The rope seems decent but there are no weight ratings, no labels, nothing. I would not trust this rope or use this rope to support a person or anything of value. It might work just fine but this should be viewed as a utility rope. The caribiners are definetly not for holding the weight of a person. The rope itself is excellent, well made and the loops are very well stitched. the carabiners however are very cheap and nothing I would use for much other than dangling from a backpack to hold my gloves/hat/snax. I quickly replaced them with proper climbing carabiners that I knew the load rating for and am very happy with the set up. he bag is on the cheap side as most bags included with chinesium gear, but that is to be expected. ... show more
