These stools were easy to assemble and the wooden seat is thick and comfortable to sit on. The metal legs are black powder coated and the screw holes aligned nicely which made assembly a breeze. The finish is darker then the pictures. NOTE: Two weeks later at a small get together our guests used the stools for the first time. At the end of the party we noticed flakes of the finish on the floor next to one of the stools. I realized that the finish had flaked off the side of the stool saddle. Only one out of four so far, but I will be watching for more. One set is being returned for exchange. ... show more

These stools are very sturdy and heavy and replaced my oak round country style stools. Only issue are the corners are sharp so I would not buy if I had small children around. I chose the "wood" look and the stripping is OK.
