This is my second or third Otium headset of this type. First one I wrecked - second one my cat bit the wire. This one lasted almost 1 year so not bad. The build quality is good. Can be used in the shower/rain and if you're sweaty. The "hooks" that go behind your ear makes it very easy to use while doing regular tasks. Personally, I like the design versus the "in your ear" types that always fall out for me. I've never had an issue with the previous ones, but the current one developed an issue (yesterday) which resulted in 1 star being deducted. That is - it died and then refuses to charge. I've tried various chargers including higher output ones but no luck. So that out of the way - let's get more into the device. Overall it's comfortable - for me and persons like myself that find "in your ear" types to be uncomfortable or too easy to fall out. While the build quality is good, you should avoid "dragging" the device from one side or by the wire. This may result in one side not working over time. The device is waterproof - I've personally used it in the rain with my phone inside the house/car or to listen to things while in the shower. Or be on calls that I have no choice but to take. Just ensure the charging port cover is secured and you should be fine. The audio VOLUME is lower than other devices, but the audio QUALITY is fine. The shortcuts with the buttons take a bit of getting accustomed to, but once you're past that you've got a great device. The charging time is about an hour I think, and then it will last for 8 hours or more. I've actually used this for 2 days without charging - only turned it off at night. On this point - and the current failure - I advise you to turn it off when it says "battery low" and do not turn it back on until you've charged it up. While it has died on me before, this time when it died after 2 days of usage, I attempted to charge and it refuses to do so. Again - overall - this is a great buy for the price. If you're a commuter and you're looking to block out ambient noises, there are some sounds you're just not going to block out with earbuds, period. At least this has been my experience no matter which earbuds I've tried. Sounds such as the subway train as it arrives, and super loud commuters. That said these earbuds do a decent job of blocking out most noises. For the super loud commuters, it won't drown out their voices completely but for the most part you won't be able to make out what the other people are saying, you'll just hear their voices. Think Charlie Brown's teacher. I don't have much of an opinion on the bass because I don't pay much attention to it. I can say that pairing was a breeze and the connections stays strong even if your phone or device is in another room and you've walked away. Also, the volume on the earbuds are separate from your phone. So if your phone's volume is at max and you can still hear that business person act like a complete and utter... jerk... you can turn up the volume on the earbuds and drown him out with some decent music. The case they come with is great. You may want to eventually replace the carabiner that comes with it though. I haven't had any issues with it but it just seems fragile. They definitely stay on my ears and fit around my industrial and daith piercings comfortably. As for controls, like most earbuds, it comes with a multifunction button and volume buttons. Although it's by far the easiest pair to figure out. The manual helps but when you forget what does what it's super easy to figure out what makes your music skip or repeat. So far the mic has been great. No one has complained, and in fact they couldn't tell whether I was in my office or walking around outside. Good for the price, but don't last forever. I bought them for every day use and was listening music for about 2-3 hours every day. PROS: - Sound quality is much better than some of some more expensive headphones from Sony. - Perfectly sits on ears during workouts. - Price is reasonable. They sound good, have decent noise cancelation, and are good for working out. The vendors customer service is really good as well when I had an issue with the product.

I had a problem after seven months with the on/off switch. I contacted the company and they replaced the earbuds free of charge. I appreciate a company that stands behind their products.

    • Customer Support was Amazing
We had a basketball break one side of the headphones while ours were still under warranty. The customer support was amazing, extremely fast, sent out a replacement which arrived within 2 days. I wish all customer support was this easy and professional!

I loved these and used them every day for roughly 6.5 months until one morning when I turned them on and less than 30seconds into my podcast they disconnected and shut themselves off. I tried again and again, recharged them, tried connecting to a different device and no matter what, they simply stopped working. They’ll turn on, show as connected to a device and then shut off without the vocal “power off” notice they usually say. Update: I emailed customer service and they were wonderful. They sent replacements and have been great ever since!!! ... show more
