  • Small glitch
This is a really good product, for the price. Buying this, one doesn't have high expectations, but this product delivers. The reason I'm leaving a review is just to touch on a point for iPhone owners. This product was purchased for my husband who is technologically challenged and also has dementia, so remembering steps can be an issue. After his first few days using these, he kept asking me why his messages weren't audibly notifying him. After several hours of reading tech pages, changing settings and testing via sending messages from my phone, I finally stumbled on the fact it was the earphones, zipped in his box, but "ON" which was causing the issue. In short, using an iPhone, you MUST have your earphones turned off when not using them in order to allow the phone to notify you of messages, or it will default to the earphones. Not a big issue for most of us, but he has to 're-pair' them and that is confusing for him. You all should be just fine with it, but just this heads up to save you the time I had to spend figuring it out. Great little pair of earphones. ... show more

  • Great budget headphones
Sometimes people rate products for what an item is NOT rather than for what it IS. If you're excpecting an audiophile's dream, move on. If you're looking for surprisingly good, quality budget earphones you can use to listen to music, watch videos & movies, & you don't care about true wireless, then these are well worth trying, especially for the price point. The sound quality is very good ( not tinny, no static, very clear, good volume strength), charging is fast, and battery lasts from 6 - 8 hours on a single charge, depending on device & how high you crank the volume. I don't like blasting music or movies into my ears, I just want to hear it clearly, so these typically last me a good 7-8 hours on phone and pc. I have had these for 19 months & they're still going strong. NOTE: I use these every single day since the day I bought them, and I use them until they max out & need a recharge, every single day. They are now starting to show signs of degradation: the charge now creeps down to 90% when I go to use them after fully charging them the night before. If I charge them again real quick before use, I can get 100% again. Also, instead of 8 hours, they now last somewhere between 6 - 7 hours on a single charge. Still pretty darn good. 1 star off, since they're not good for calls bc the mic sucks, so if that's important to you ( it wasn't for me) it could be a deal breaker. Also, they're tethered to each other, so if you want to use them at the gym, they might annoy you with the cord flopping around your neck & maybe getting caught on clothing, etc. True wireless are probably better for the gym where you'll be moving around vigorously. They're just fine for biking though. The on/off button bothers some ppl but imo, it's fine bc you don't have to push it while it's in your ear -- just put the left earphone in, press the button on the right one until it turns on, then put in the right earphone. Easy peasy, no big deal. Same for turning them off, just take the right earbud off so you don't have to press it into your ear, if pressing the button while it's in your ear bothers you. And there you have it folks! For this price point you can't ask for much better! I'm very careful with reveiws & wait a long time before commenting to make sure a product is good. I do not hesitate to recommend these! TLDR: Although not good for calls bc the mic sucks & earphones are tethered to each other, these wireless phones are surprisingly good. Very good sound & volume, long battery life on a single charge, and solid quality -- still going strong for me after 19 months -- all at a dirt cheap price! Recommended! ... show more

  • Great headphones! Stand up to heavy use!
I have ordered these several times in the past few years. I use them several hours a day, every day including the in the rain and shower, so I don’t expect them to last longer than 12-18 months, and I’m happy with that! Having said that, the last set I ordered failed within 3 months. I reached out to the company and they were wonderful to work with, in particular Olivia. She mailed out a replacement set the same day I contacted them and was very kind. I’ll continue using these, and I regularly recommend! ... show more

  • Perfect for What I Needed
You'd never guess by looking at me, but I go to the gym nearly every day. For the past year I'd been using Shockz OpenRun bone conduction headphone for the gym as I like to listen to music and YT videos while working out, but I also like being able to hear around me in case anyone wants to compliment my sweet azz. (For the record: this hasn't happened yet, but it might, and I need to be prepared.) The problem is, in the past 12 months I've been through two pair of the OpenRun headphones. The first set stopped taking a charge and wouldn't turn on the first time it got cold here in Colorado and the second pair worked flawlessly until the rubberized exterior wore out at the control buttons. I didn't want to spend $150 again for the same thing so started looking around for other options. I'd been planning on using an older pair of SoundCore over the ear headphones that were broken, but serviceable, when Amazon showed me these Optium. The SoundCore's didn't have an IPX rating and most of the reviews said they didn't last long under stressful usage, so I was excited to see these not only having an IPX rating of 7 but also their price tag (I purchased them for $20) I bought them hoping they would suffice, and they came the next day. I have worn them to the gym a few times now and I can honestly say they're perfectly fine (for the price). Do they have amazing sound quality? No. I can hear the music and videos without worrying about them falling off my head, though. Do they have bass because we're all about that bass, right? Not really, no. But, then again, neither did the Shockz. In fact, my Amazon Echo 2 buds have more bass (and ANC) than these. At the gym, that doesn't matter to me since there's lots of clinking and clanking anyway. Plus, no ANC, which means I can hear around me when someone wants to whistle at my legs. Don't get me wrong, these aren't "tinny"' they're just bass-less, so, more treble. Kind of like my truck speakers ... but that's another story. The IPX7 rating also means I don't have to worry too much about them when I'm in the steam room or sitting in the spa. I don't swim or shower with them, though. The charge lasts far longer than either my OpenRuns or my Echo 2s, but these have significantly less features to drain the battery away. Earlier today I took a call while listening to music through these and the other end said I sounded fine, so that's a plus. These Optiums came with a small case, some ear pieces to adjust to your ears and a small clip you can use to clip the wire to your collar or headband, if you're that guy (don't be that guy). For $20 I couldn't be happier with a headset. I would have given these 4.5 stars, if allowed, as opposed to 5 if they had any sort of bass. ... show more
