  • Worked superbly; REALLY solid
Installed these on a 2018 VW Sportwagon and was very pleased. Mounting was easy, the fit was good, and attachment was rock-solid; they supported two bikes (fork mount rack system) for 1100+ miles at 65-80 mph with absolutely no problems. Noise is what one would expect. At higher speeds (70+ mph) some resonance occurs; whooshing becomes whistling. This was reduced significantly, and the whistling eliminated entirely, by placing heavy adhesive tape (Gorilla or duct tape) across open gaps on the underside of the crossrails; this didn't detract at all from aesthetics. With bike racks and bikes mounted the noise was, interestingly, even less. Overall, a big win. At a fraction of the car manufacturer's crossrail price, these rails perform superbly. We couldn't be happier. ... show more

  • 5 stars for product, 5+ stars for customer services
The quality of this cross bars is excellent for the price, and deserves a 5 stars rating. It can be securely mounted on my 2020 Subaru Ascent to haul our cargo box with all our camping stuff. We hardly noticed any wind noise from it when driving on the freeway. This cross bars come with anti-theft locks and an extended hex screw wrench. Unfortunately, we've lost both the keys and the wrench, and our coming camping trip is just a week later. So, I contacted the customer services right the way for help. After understanding our situation, the customer service agreed to send us a new set of the bars by UPS which I received 2 days later. There is no hassle at all. We can feel the sincerity in the services, and believe that they would like to make their customers to be 100% satisfied. This well deserve a 5+ stars rating. We have no reservation to recommend this seller and this product. ... show more

  • Noise is too much / update: great customer service
Updated Review: Customer service reached in concern and refunded the full amount considering the challenges I faced. Considering the huge price difference from other companies and great service, definitely worth trying these out, the value is there. Old Review: Centering the product on top of your car takes some tinkling with the sides but it wasnt that hard. Overall it was easy enough to install. I added the rubber strips that were supposed to decrease noise but it really did nothing. The noise was way too loud any speed over 40 mph. Now its too late to return because I threw away the box and stuck with something just sitting in my garage. Sad waste of money. Recommend you splurge and go with Thule rather if you feel like you will care about the wind noise in the car. ... show more

  • Super Nice crossbars - fits profile (pic) optimally:
The Profile in the attached pic is almost exactly the fitment of the clamps. This is approx CROSS SECTION of YOUR rails, to size and shape (not including the supports that MUST raise it off your roof) that clamp very well. low down: You MUST HAVE a 'raised roof rail.' You need to have about 3/4 inch of clearance under the rail, to you roof. You can't expect these to compensate very well for ANY other cross section shape. With that said, the quality is very good overall. The extrusion is beefy and clean with a rubber "pad" fitted into the extrusion. The clamping shape and molded/shaped rubber holds extremely well and strong. Mine came with two extra end caps. The "key" design clamp (one per bar) is a deterrent which can be defeated fairly easy by breaking the little cover that moves into place. You can only remove the key in "anti-theft" position which makes it a little annoying to work with. The 'Allen' driver supplied needs to be about a foot longer so you can 'spin' it up tight (won't clear the bar) as you have to pull it out, re-index it, then tighten another 160 degrees,,, wash & repeat. I ended up getting one of my T Handle Allen to 'spin' it tight (or loosen it) as the process takes FOREVER! ... show more

  • Satisfied customer. Worked great for supporting four kayaks.
I got the 54 inch set for my Toyota Highlander and the fit was perfect. I was able to install two double-sided kayak racks on top in order to haul four kayaks total on a long road trip. No issues whatsoever. That being said, a couple of the problematic issues I read in reviews seem to have now been addressed by the company. A whistling road noise was reported by some users - I did not experience the noise (possibly because of the kayaks reshaping the wind flow), but the the kit included trimmable rubber gaskets to seal off the underside openings on the racks to reduce wind noise. I did not need them. The other issue of note was the inclusion of a substantially long Allen wrench to tighten the attachment bolts in each rack boot. Some users reported that the wrench was too short. Mine was approximately 10 inches long with plenty of reach. ... show more

  • Best crossbars for the money, hands down!!!
I purchased these along with two other more expensive brands, to determine which would be the best for my Kia Sorento, for roof carry of my 85 lb fishing kayak. I found these to be the same quality or superior to the ones priced over $200. These are extremely sturdy. The most impressive thing is how they flex and return to their shape. I ratchet strap my kayak down tight and it is heavy. They flex nicely and when the kayak is removed they return to their shape perfectly. The only fault I find is they are a little noisy on the road in a headwind, but I don’t care because they work so well. Don’t spend the money on the expensive brands. Buy these!!! ... show more

  • Seem like sturdy quality
The installation is pretty easy and straight forward. you first put on the end caps. I got 6 but only needed 4. Also comes with the alan wrench and two keys. There are extra weather stripping if you want to use that on the bottom side, that is optional. I found that there is a slight whistle when going above 65 miles an hour. It's not terrible and if you have a radio on or are talking, I dont' really notice it. I have a 2018 Traverse redline. The front bars went on easily. The back bars were a little harder because the rails are thicker, but I did squeeze them on. ... show more
