I took this to the beach yesterday and it was nice and study vs. other chairs where you sink into them. I'm 5'3" and I loved the lay flat feature. I was worried about my legs hanging off but it was completely comfortable especially with the arm holes. The bottom of the chair hit right above my knees so only my feet were in the sand. I was surprised by how comfortable it was. I only have 2 complaints: 1) I have a very small head so the face hole was a little large for me. I just scooted up a bit more so my forehead could lay against it. 2) It doesn't come up enough for you to sit straight up if you want to, I have back issues and sometimes prefer to sit straight vs. incline. I may find a lumbar pillow to help with this. This may also be due to me being short and the back of the chair being taller than me. If you are a taller person it might feel straighter for you. This chair is lightweight and easy to carry. The extra velcro straps on the sides to hold the chair in place and keep it from opening up are a nice touch as well. ... show more

This is a great chair it's comfortable. Positives Iightweight Comfortable material Has all the features for tanning or back and front and all the positions Negatives The backpack straps are a little short and they are just long enough to go over my shoulders. And sometimes the straps come off so you have to be very careful The arm rests are little weak and you cannot put all your weight on the edges which is kind of a bummer because your solo to the ground you need to push down on the armrest but they end up bending so be careful. ... show more

I had foldable camp chairs, but I felt they would not be as comfortable to use at the beach like these Ostrich beach chairs. The Ostrich beach chairs were full horizontal reclinable as well as various sitting position. I used the 45° recline position as did my girlfriend. Her’s was a beautiful shade of blue while mine was the beautiful green one I am evaluating presently. We were able to put these beach chairs close to the water which enabled us to put our feet and legs in the water and enjoy the surf and scenery much more. We enjoy going to the beach and we love using our Ostrich chair to sit almost in the water. In fact we were in the water when the tide started coming in. They were easy to clean and store away. I totally recommend these Ostrich chairs for the beach or even just to lounge around in the back yard. The can/bottle holders made our drinks easy to reach for. The cup holders weren’t insulated so maybe they can add this feature in the near future. We also had these attached pillows that you could rest on while reclined or move out of the way when fully horizontal so you could put your face into a cut out circle so you could get an even tan without your neck getting cranked from your head being side ways. These colors made us feel happy as their brightness affected and elevated our moods. They were easy to clean and I was able to get water into the tubing to clean out the salt water. Comfortable chair , but the quality has something to be desired. I originally ordered two for my wife and I for the beach. Mine lasted 1 year, and the bottom ripped out of it. Im an average 185 lb. mail, five nine and a half. The chair was definitely not overstressed. I did however by the exact same chair as a replacement for the next summer. For the price I can deal with the crappy quality. the second problem is the backpack straps come apart and begin to unravel at the end of the strap. I found that if you take a lighter and melt the strap ends this doesn't happen. I probably should have given it three stars, and would have if it was only the straps unraveling. If you use these for a week or two once or twice a year they will last for a few seasons. if you use them all the time, spend $140.00 and get the really really good chair. Aug.12-2022. Update. 3rd. Chair. The last one had the carry straps rot off. 2yo. Used a total of 3 weeks in 2 years. The current one the carry straps lasted 4 days before the stitching ripped out at the top. I am returning this one. I've changed my review to "do not bother." 8/4/23. The newest one had the back pack straps pop off mid traffic in OCNJ. this afternoon while heading to the beach. What was left caught in my bike chain and the chair got draged down the street until I could stop. Lol. What junk. It's a shame because the chair is actually comfortable when it's intact and looks great. What a disappointment.the grease on the right bottom strap in the last picture is where it caught in my chain. ... show more

I’m headed to the beach !!! Atlantic side . I love the chair . Very well made , maybe heavier than I would like but it’s because it’s well made and sturdy . I will be able to handle the weight with the nice straps to carry it to the beach with . This will be perfect fo me , a total beach bum . Going to the beach now to relax in this nice beach chair .the chair sits very low not crazy about that . A bit hard to get out of , I also wish it had a holder in one side for book . It does have a cup holder but a yeti will not fit i use a yeti all the time . Could be a bit larger for beach drink holders , usually big. I am able to edit this now after my winter in Florida . I’m changing my mind on the review . This chair is actually a bit heavy . This chair is low to the ground and very hard to get out of . I’m pretty limber yet, I do not like getting out of this chair. The face area is okay if you can lay on your tummy and read . I prefer sitting up and reading . The cup holder does not hold a yeti , and could be deeper . ... show more
