If you have someone in your life who likes wine but struggles to open bottles with a traditional opener this is an excellent gift! It looks stylish sitting in the counter and with a push of the button it will extract the cork. Make sure the foil is off to make it easier. I wanted an affordable bottle opener, but you do get what you pay for. If the opening of the bottle is a little wider, it can be a little difficult with this opener. Also I found that plastic corks always get stuck inside the opener and I have to use a knife to get it out. For any bottle, it's kind of a guessing game if you got the opener right in the center of the cork since the corkscrew end is flush with the bottom of the opener. Normally, Oster is a reliable brand. I have no idea how this got any good reviews. It simply refuses to open a bottle and just destroys cork in the process. I have tried on 5 different bottles of different years and on 4 it just made a hole in the cork, the fifth there was not enough power to pull it out. (yes fully charged) Even worse, I can't return it because it was a Christmas gift and then, Dry January. So did not get to try it out until my 30 days expired. But I now have a fancy foil cutter holder. : >) ... show more
