  • Not quite up to par.
This is very pretty and the sound is very good. However, the manufacture and quality control are somewhat questionable. First the tuners are so stiff that it is almost impossible to turn some of them. Possibly the instrument has been in storage for some time and is very dry. More of a problem is the finish of the bridge which is screwed in by two screws. One screw is covered by a neat black insert. The other is not covered and the head of the screw is visible. This looks like sloppy manufacture. Not sure if I will keep this one in my collection. ... show more

  • Pretty, sweet sound
It's very beautiful. The binding is a little more sparkly than I gathered from the pictures. Has a sweet sound and came strung for GgcCeeaa ; I'll probably change the order the C octaves to Cc instead. The action is comfortable - low enough for it to be pretty comfortable pressing down on the double strings. Love the inlays and the high gloss finish on the mahogany. The tuners feel oddly cheap, which is unfortunate and I'll be watching to see how they hold up over time. There are some blemishes on the soundboard, like pinprick marks which made me wonder if it was a factory second or something but overall, I'm pleased enough to keep it and enjoy it. ... show more
