  • Engine hoist accessory
My husband says this was just what he was looking for. Seems to be made of quality material also.

  • Up, up and away!
Worked exactly as supposed to. REALLY helps out. Usually I just use a chain. But after using one of these, I'll never go back to the chain again!!!! VERY easy to use. Crank moves with little effort. I read someone's review that said "plastic handle striped out." I didn't have this problem. And they also said "the way the chains is made it really will not let you bring it up level. It needs it own chains for each side" I also didn't have a problem with this either. When using it, the motor stayed level, the chains kept the motor straight, everything went perfect. My wife had no problems using it either. ... show more

  • Not a bad buy
Chains are very snug at first. Needs some slight “break in” because of coating

  • Worth the money!!
I used this to set my rebuilt 22r into my 1985 Toyota pickup and was amazed at how much easier it was than some straps that I previously used to get it out.

  • Requires Modification Before Use
This will not work out of the box. The supplied chains only fit one side of the leveler. The other side had to have the slots enlarged in order to fit the size chain they provided. We accomplished this using a drill and bit approximately the same size as the slots. Also, as already noted, this leveler includes nothing to attach it to the engine. You will need to supply your own clevises, hooks, or bolts. Holding a second generation Cummins 12 valve minus turbo and exhaust manifold at around 1,100 lbs from a 2 ton Harbor Freight Engine Hoist, it works fine. When the engine is close to center balance the crank is easy to turn and the bearings roll smoothly. Each rotation of the crank results in very little adjustment so it is easy to fine tune the position but will take awhile to make significant changes in slope. The further from centered balance the leveler becomes, the harder it gets to crank. Very hard with a heavy medium duty diesel engine. The main reasons I selected this leveler were for its weight rating and because the overall height is shorter than others, which will be critical when lifting this engine into the bay of a tall Ford Excursion. However, being double the price of other levelers is not justified given that it won't work out of the box and doesn't include parts to attach it to an engine. Had this not been the best option I found for my very specific needs I would have chosen something different but I fully expect that after being modified, it will now do the job without anymore issues. ... show more

  • Looks good and solid
Shipped quick. Looks good and solid. Seems to work good so far (engine is hanging on it now). Only thing I didn't like was the clevis that came with the unit, it looks to small and weak for a 2 ton load. I replaced it with a hardened bolt and upgraded chain.

  • Sturdy
I use this to lift heavy ceramic molds in the 50-70 lb range so I haven't tested the weight capacity on this hoist. But it's very well built and has very little side-to-side wobble. I'd recommend this - the price was very reasonable.

  • Amazing add to my garage!!!!
Works great. First time I ever used one of these. Didn't think it would work. Works better then I could have ever thought it would. If I had any complaint the handle hit my cherry picker. But just took off and used battery drill. Witch made it easier.
