Having had one of these back in 1997, I can safely say everything is as expected and good! I've seen bad reviews about the tama going off every 5 seconds, but that's just the baby stage and it only lasts about an hour. I have heard complaints about it being loud, and those are accurate. I don't remember it being that loud in 97, but when you're a kid, loud noises don't bother you as much. The sounds on these are loud enough to interrupt conversation. I even saw a complaint implying someone had received a defective one because there was no backlight and had a good "elder millenial" laugh at that. Most of my complaints revolve around comparisons with the Tamagotchi Connection, which I bought in 2004 and kept and rebooted recently. The icons on the Original re-release are in a weird order, the gage is not organized nearly as neatly on the screen, and most important of all the buttons on the Original are not nearly as responsive as the ones on the Connection. The buttons thing is probably my biggest complaint and besides that I think it's good! ... show more

Forgot I bought it, was super stoked when I got it. Just like the 90’s it is always on an pretty loud and need constant attention like a real pet. I’m in my 30s and love having it on my keychain I thankfully work in a very loud work environment, so I don’t hear it screaming when it takes a poop while I’m at work. Cute and I’m glad they’re back !! It wouldn’t let me post a pic but I have the cool little duck guy. I like how they kept the technology 90’s simple and didn’t mess with the original layout. 10/10 amusing. ... show more

Had a backpack full of these in the 90s. Got one for my daughter and it didn’t take more than 3 button clicks and a few beeps to remind me why I always had to hand it over to the teachers mid day. 😂🤦🏻♂️ who needs a puppy? Get a tomagotchi

OMG I LOVE THIS TOY SO MUCH AND YELLOW IS MY FAVORITE COLOR I HAVE 2 I LOVE THEM BOTH SO SO SO MUCH I LOVE TAMAGOTCHIS!! The mermaid scales one is an adult Masktchi and the yellow one is a toddler gonna be a Mimitchi it has been Mimitchi 3 times every time a Mimitchi. I bought this Tamagotchi for my niece who is 1 half of a set of twins. I got her brother one also. They are 9 and she caught on faster than he did. The screen was REALLY hard to see, which made it complicated to know which icon was which. It was a bit of an issue setting up and my neice was bummed she couldn't enter its name (I read over instructions several times so I don't think I overlooked, but maybe). I love taking care of my little guy. The design is so pretty and I'm able to attach to to a bag or a keychain if I wanted! The only bad thing is that the screen can be hard to see sometimes, especially in brighter lighting
