Recently went to a Hilton hotel in the Caribbean where I enjoyed relaxing in a Hammock, snapped a picture of the brand name, decided to purchase my own on Amazon but the quality is not near the same. The packaging couldn’t of been cheaper and flimsier. There’s some big gaps in the hammock knots where your butt slides through as you get in or out. The metal hoops came loose inside the box. The hammock also does not fit as it should on the hammock stand which I have even though the measurements were matched and bought purposely to fit. The emblem is cheap plastic not metal like the one at the hotel(I posted a comparison of the two in the pictures)obviously the one in the hotel is oxidized because it’s at the beach. The quality is just very poor overall. Only positive thing to say is the Amazon driver was prompt and careful with the package, handled it as fragile. got the same 20 years ago for $200 was thinking that I overpaid, We live in Idaho rain, hot summer winter all wether elements hot able to destroy out 20 years hammock. my wife said kets get a new one and take old in the camper for camping, sowitour habitation I got the same yes $200 but it will last 30 + years! quality product! ... show more

The only annoyance was to find out that the hammock I ordered was not in stock and needed to be manufactured. I contacted the company several times and they kept giving me a new estimate. They did offer to cancel and refund the order if I wanted due to the delay. I figured that based on the reviews it would be worth the wait and it was! It is a great hammock. Instant relaxation and very comfortable. Everything seems very well built. I’m a bigger guy and it supports me without any sag or seeming strain. It might have been nice for the company to give me 10% off for the extended wait time as the error in having the item posted for immediate sale and shipping was on their end. This is heavier duty than the last one I bought that didn't last: thicker wood, better rope. Pay the extra and get this model. I assume the cheaper Pauley Island ones are inferior.

There is nothing on the hammock to identify it as an “Original Pawleys Island Hammock”. I bought it to replace my “Hatteras Hammock”, which is clearly labeled as such. Moreover, unlike the Hatteras Hammock”, this replacement hammock arrived with no “S” hooks that I could use to hang it from my hammock stand. Most disappointing and quite frustrating. ... show more

This is a great well made hammock. It is comfortable and sturdy. The customer service is amazing. The one I ordered was not in stock they emailed me immediately and suggested this hammock instead. They shipped it priority mail and I had it in three days. What a great experience and love the hammock.

I just got it yesterday. It is more comfortable than my rope hammock I had for many many years before the rope rotted and broke. I have a small concern about how much it stretches. I expected this to happen and will tighten it on the ends as it stretches.
