It passed the water test and the vinegar test. I can't test any further than that, so I don't know for certain that it doesn't contain something that crude testing won't reveal. They say they test for metals, but that doesn't mean they test for other things; something can be cut with starch and still qualify as "organic", and not all toxic dyes contain heavy metals. Taste is okay; a bit strong and it can leave a strong chalky/metallic aftertaste, which is why I did the vinegar test (no chalk bubbles, but there could be something else). It looks and tastes more like Alleppey than Madras. That's good if it's true, but I don't trust a supplier that doesn't know enough about the product to point out the difference. I think I'll go back to McCormick after I finish this bag. Too many unknowns with this company and I never got an answer from them about testing. Edit: The McCormick culinary turmeric didn't pass the water test and was not as potent as this brand, so I will be returning to this brand. ... show more

This is VERY EXCELLENT Turmeric powder! Taste is pure, it is a fine powder. I like it with eggs, I put a full teaspoon with one egg. Makes it easy to ingest. I add some lecithin powder to it to make it more absorbable. Sometimes I add the powder and lecithin to some water and drink it down. I do that for inflammation when my joints hurt, especially my neck (due to car wrecks). Turmeric is wonderful for your body! I rate this Turmeric "A+" ! :) ... show more

I have been sick since I tried this product, I don't recommend to anybody. I almost have to go to the hospital because my stomach was killing me and that happened after I tried this product ... 7 days sick and counting.

The smell, taste and color are rich. The effects seems to work mighty well. My husband burned his eye and the skin around his eye with hot oil and though it burned him we acted quickly and made him a shooter glass of turmeric, black pepper, Braggs amino acids and water. First time taking Tumeric. Use the recipe on the back of the lovely product packaging. Very impressed with flavour, texture and information on packaging. Bright colour. Absolutely lovely.
