I LOVE this toothbrush. From the first time I used it, I felt that my mouth was so much cleaner. It is so easy to handle that it makes me want to brush my teeth. I used a spin brush and then a store brand electric brush before this and this does a better job by leaps and bounds. It's attractive, feels good in my hand, fits well in my mouth, and you can just feel it doing a good job brushing. I also love the base to store it on, and it's so much easier to change the head than on the other brands I used. Having a rechargeable battery is a big plus, too. The power is consistent and the brush does not slow down as the battery loses its charge. like the brushes with replaceable batteries did. The toothbrush heads are sturdier and last longer, too! As for the timer, I completely ignore that. It takes me longer than 2 minutes to brush my teeth if I want to pay attention and do a good job so I really don't see a need for that feature. But for those who are quick brushers, I guess it's a good feature to remind you to take more time. ... show more

My dentist recommended I swap from the Phillips Sonicare to an Oral B electric toothbrush to more easily reach behind and around my back molars. I’ve had a Sonicare brush of some sort for 15 years now. I was hesitant to swap. When the Oral B brush arrived, I unpacked it and everything went together well. I rinsed the small by comparison brush head and decided to give it an immediate go. I pushed the power button and I swear a rocket blasted off into space - inside my head. This thing is LOUD! Much, much louder than the Sonicare toothbrush I was accustomed to all these years. However, it has some oomph behind it and quite a bit of scrubbing power in those bristles. I vowed to give it a solid week before making my final decision. I most miss the silence of my Phillips Sonicare brush and the minimalist timer function but that’s really it. All else is sacrificial to me. The Oral B gives my teeth and gums a much deeper and thorough clean I feel. The timer function is a bit odd on this brush though. It almost feels as if it “skips.” As if you put too much pressure on the motor and it burns out for a split second before revving back up. It also doesn’t automatically shut off after two minutes - it just keeps rattling your brain endlessly until you turn it off. I don’t really find this feature helpful personally. I did notice that you CAN charge this toothbrush with the Phillips Sonicare base. It’s the same peg-in-hole design concept of sitting the brush on the base to charge. Regardless of which charger I grab from the drawer, the Oral B charge doesn’t last very long. Within a weeks time, it’s flashing at me brightly to give it some juice. My Sonicare could easily go several weeks between charges with twice daily usage. This one drains pretty quickly. I wish the Oral B brush heads came with a cap/cover of sorts. All in all, I like the toothbrush. It’s not my favorite and I prefer the stealth and sleekness of the Phillips Sonicare more BUT the Oral B has other brands beat on deep cleaning. The vibrations and the oscillation of the brush head just cannot be beat. I’ll admit, most mornings, I use my Sonicare brush still. I’m not fully awake, nor am I a morning person in general so the sound of a Boeing jet starting up in my mouth isn’t how I want to start my day. Sonicare let’s me ease into my mornings gently. However, at night, I always use the Oral B brush to deep clean and clear away any lingering dinner debris before bed. I’m not ready to fully embrace this brush yet but I like it enough to keep it and continue using it. I feel it’s overall function outweighs its aesthetics. Oral B if you’re reading this; please, make it quieter, give it a longer-lasting battery and please, put a cap on the brush head for storage and overspray of styling products and perfumes. ... show more

I wanted to purchase a spin brush, but wasn’t too sure which one to get. A while back I had a spin brush, but it just was so powerful that it actually made my teeth hurt. This Toothbrush wonderful. My basic rechargable Braun rotary brush had water get into the motor it began to wreak and then die within less than 2 years. I debated getting an off brand that came with more brush heads but went with this model Instead, because this model has a charging indicator light the basic one did not. I thought this brush would be an upgrade and hoped it would last longer. The cleaning power feels exactly the same as the lower tier brush. I immediately wish I had just gotten the cheapest one again. The grip was better on the old one and the on off was raised and more functional. This model does not have a separate button for the different speeds. I use the higher setting and when finished, the smooth button unresponsive feeling button must be pressed three times with frothy toothpaste in my mouth to shut this brush off and to me this caveat is annoying enough to trash this one as soon as I can afford something different. T On the positive this does clean teeth and has a charger indicator light and I think the surface although smooth I don't find slippery like other reviews. I personally prefer the cheapest model's rubber grip over this model being easier to clean off. It did arrive the same day which was part of my regretable decision as I forgot about the pre-use charging this particular model needs plugged in 22 hours. ..Also most electric toothbrushes with good intentions have this annoying nanny feature that stalls out the brush every few seconds this model does too. Personally my wish from the manufacturer is the option to turn that * off and brush my teeth uninterrupted. ... show more
