The strap is thick and not worried it's going to break. The winch is strong I used it to pull a 16'x6' wide and 4' deep bay boat on the trailer with no problem. The quick release is awesome to just flip the handle and pull the strap. The handle can go in two locations on the winch for gear ratios to make the load easy to pull. Purchased to make a draw board. Like others have stated the locking lever struggles to latch and stay in place out of the box. Put a coup!e drops of oil between lever and frame and no more issues. For its intended use I am very happy with what I got!
