We bought four of these and are happy with their sturdiness and the craftsmenship of their construction. Well done and we highly recommend them.

A little bulky but keeps you afloat
Style: Vest,Universal,Jacket
Used it for kayaking as i cant swim at all.needed a pfd which is suitable for novice kayaker like me (not a swimmer either).if i lay on my back in the water it keeps me afloat but the splashing water still goes into my ear sometimes which is enough to make me panic as i cant swim.if their was a littl
e more floating material which stays behind my neck it would keep my head even higher and therefore their would be no splashing water in my ear. Having said that this PFD is way better than the lightweight ones you can get in $30.i would always prefer this one over the light cheaper ones as this can keep you afloat even if you are unconscious and even in the rough water.Next time please put more floating material in the part which stays under the back of the neck.

The bottom safety belt was extremely hard to get opened.

The whistle is loud. The life jacket fits well for adults. I haven't gotten it in the water to try it out

Good value for Type 1 vest and as comfortable as most type 1 get
Style: Vest,Universal,Jacket
Very bulky in front but pretty comfortable around the neck. But you must remember Type 1 PDF is not made for comfort it is made to save your life when you go over the side in rough seas in the worst case scenario and help is not close. It has 22 lbs of buoyancy (like most type 1) not 32 lbs. I called
Kent and it’s made for up to 52 inch chest, I’m very close to that and it’s snug. The snap type buckles on strap ends are better made then those of most pfd’s. Its a deal to find a US Coast Guard Approved (and it is) Type 1 PDF at this price point $42. Should last many years if stored properly. So wear your inflatable pdf on those nice days, but swap it out with this one when it looks as if things are starting to go sideways with storm on the horizon. It is made in China. No pockets or D-rings but can still attach strobe or PLB.

Not really a jacket. more like a type two that has fabric to go around the body . I would get a type two because the part that goes around the body on this one is superfluous. All the buoyancy material is in the front anyway. It also pushes up on your chin more than a standard type two. This one and
a type two – the old fashion life jacket that goes in the front around your neck- will keep your head up—A must for older people who could lose consciousness on a boat for medical reasons and fall in the water.

A Real Life Saver in Big Water
Style: Vest,Universal,Jacket
If you boat off shore, you need some of these preservers. They keep your head out of the water even if you get knocked out. Save yourself and your fishing buddy when things go horribly wrong. Cannot be too safe, they take up a little more storage room than a std preserver. Would buy again.

Being safe and compliant with boating laws.
Style: Vest,Universal,Jacket
You don't need these for comfort. They will save your life if you have the need for them in heavy seas. They are also required U.S.C.G. safety equipment when you take your boat off shore.
