  • Great product for the RV
Spent some time in the Southwest where the water is notoriously hard. This unit does a great job. Easy to hook up although it's a bit heavy, but manageable. The recharge interval recommendation in the manual might be a stretch. Yes, it really depends on the hardness of the raw water, so YMMV. Really great results washing the coach, no water spots, rinse and let air dry! Wouldn't be without this! ... show more

  • Works
These are great to remove the hard water at rv parks. Not to bad to service for anyone that reads the instructions . Pretty straight forward, just uses table salt. I have 2 of these on 2 separate trailers. If, you live in an area that freezes Do Not leave this full of water because it will frees and split open. How do I know this? Let’s just say I had to buy a 3rd softener😂😂. ... show more

  • Vast improvement in South Florida RV park water!
I wanted this because the water here in southern Florida almost comes out of the ground white! While that might be an exaggeration, it's very HARD, reading 425+ ppm on the test strips. This water softener brought the hardness level down to the "Zero" color mark on the test strips. The real difference is felt washing dishes and in the shower and skin .. serious suds now and our skin and hair feels much better. Careful with the dishes though the are quite slippery but come out spot free now! Best part, it's very portable and fits in a storage bay quite easily ... might weigh 30-35 lbs or so. NOTE: I got nervous when i went to use my electric TDS meter and saw a very high reading. After some research as to why, I found this online which is also why you want to test with test strips. "The other thing you can't do with a TDS meter is use it to figure out how well your softener is working. This doesn't work because of the nature of how water softening works. A water softener is an ion-exchange device - it grabs on to calcium and magnesium ions (aka hardness) and exchanges them for sodium. Well, the sodium carries the same electrical charge as the hardness. So the TDS reading of hard water and soft water is pretty much identical even if the water has been softened perfectly." ... show more

  • Get better fittings and hoses.
Using this at the cabin up north. I wanted one that could be removed during the winter. It has reduced the hardness. I started at 56 grains and now it was reading 10 but it's a blend of old water too. I'm curious to see how long it takes before I have to regenerate it. The hose that comes with leaked so I invested in better hoses. The male fitting also was worthless so I installed a brass nipple. I will probably get some spare resin and look into replacing it as I use bleach to get the iron out. ... show more

  • Great addition to our RV
What a difference this has made to our RV. We travel several months out of the year, adding this has made my wife very happy.

  • Easy installation, very effective.
I did not like how this was boxed and shipped. The box was sturdy enough, but was only filled about halfway with loose peanuts. It took quite awhile to clean all this off the tank due to static. Add more peanuts and put the tank in a plastic bag. Installation was pretty easy even though we installed this into our log cabin. When I tested the water before the install, it was reading almost off the chart. Afterwards, it was reading zero. My wife noticed the difference immediately. I would definitely recommend this water softener. ... show more

  • really works great
We are full time RV, and in the Western part of the U.S the water has a lot of calcium, magnesium, this takes it all out. We do have a set of double pre filters going into the softener. Give up on those blue RV water filters, their full of sand and charcoal. The softener uses table salt, easy to regen. ... show more

  • Worked great for a month. Now needs salt every 6 days.
Worked great for the first month but now it needs salt recharge every six days. Even after backwashing only six days of soft water. Only two adults in the RV. Water is very hard untreated. We bought the large model and expected better performance from the softener.
