    • A snorkeling must - and yes they have leg straps.
This vest is designed to allow you to swim with your head in the water whereas a life vest is designed to keep your head out of the water. It is important to remember that when you first enter the water and feel like the vest might not be doing its job. This vest is easy to deflate and inflate even in the water. Even when inflated it still permits you to dive under the water but you will feel a bit of a resistance. When inflated it allows you to literally float on top of the water with your head in the water looking at all the fish. Most excursions require a vest of some sort and will provide them. From what we saw the ones provided were all the same color and style which were the horse collar style. Everyone looked very envious of our OMOUBOI vests. Not only did they look better they looked a lot more comfortable. Everyone else looked like they were having to hold their head out because of the thing around their neck. The leg straps took a bit to figure out the proper fit. We tried the vests on before leaving but I wish we would have taken them in the water to get a better feel for how the water causes the vest to rise up. The leg straps will keep that from happening if worn properly. Another benefit was the bright color. I could easily look up and see where my husband was because of the bright color of his vest...especially handy when he started to drift off in the wrong direction. I quickly spotted him. When everyone is in the water wearing their gear and you are all at the same level in the water everyone looks alike. Unless of course you have a different color vest and snorkel! The vest when deflated takes up very little room. I bought the same vest, different color for myself. The tube that inflates and deflates the air whistled. I did not see that as a feature so not sure if it was intentional. If it was supposed to do that, my husbands vest did not whistle. If not intentional, it is a great feature and something OMOUBOI might want to consider. ... show more

    • Great for the price
I bought this to use while I was starting out on my new paddle board. It served its purpose well. I am a good swimmer so o was just looking for a little safety in case something drastic happened. I fell off the board a few times and it worked well to keep me up. I also used it for some snorkeling and it was perfect for allowing to float on top is the water with no effort. I did not use the leg straps. I can see how the would probably help keep the vest pulled down as it did want to come up around my neck a little while snorkeling but it was easy enough to hold in place while floating. I also did not inflate it fully and that worked well for me. Lastly I like the fact the you can deflate it and it fits nicely into my inflatable SUP pack.     • My husband would drowned without it
My husband doesn't float...but im into snorkeling. This vest allows him to float when he gets tired of swimming. My husband weighs about 265 and he loves this vest. It allows him to coast out lesurly and float while snorkeling. He gets way less tired and we can stay out for hours now. If he wants to dive he presses the valve to let the air out and when he comes it he blows on the valve and fills up the vest and is back to floating. He really loves ig ... show more

More of a toy than something to rely on for more serious snorkeling or to trust your life to. Works ok for what it is.

The only problem I found is being able to stand straight with the straps attached to my legs when I got out of my inflatable kayak which caused me to fall in the lake and then I couldn't actually kick my legs when I tried to swim back to the shore. Small price to pay for a staying alive. Vest Creeps up to your chin if you don't use the straks. Not good! ... show more

I bought this for my husband to use while snorkeling. He's not a strong swimmer and feels much more confident with a vest on. He really dislikes the horse-collar style, so we hoped this would be a good alternative. So far, so good. Seems to be accurate that one size fits all. It fit my husband great. It is a bigger fit on me (I'm 5'3 and 115 lbs) but still feels fine and doesn't bother me at all. The slim design is nice because and helps us to stay cool in the sun. We have a smaller apartment and a compact car, so having inflatables helps to save on a bit of space.     • I got a ticket for No Lifejacket while wearing this.
This is not a federally approved life jacket, who knew there was such a thing? So if you are boating/kayaking on a public body of water, then you could be breaking the law. Now I have a mandatory court appearance. Great! The officer said "this is a toy, not a life jacket." Just be aware.
