Directions: You can change which setting you’re using whenever you want, but it’s not possible to use different settings at the same time., You can choose between the light setting, i.e. choosing at which level of daylight the coop should open and close, time setting, i.e. setting specific times when you know your flock has returned to the coop or are ready to go out for the day. There is also a manual mode where the door opens and closes only when you press the button. On the app you can also override your current settings by pressing “Open” or “Close”. For safety and peace of mind, there is also a built-in failsafe system for opening the door completely by hand. You can find out how to do this by checking the instruction manual.

Works exactly as described and lives up to every review I researched. Opens at crack of daylight and closes 1/2 hour after dark. I bought this automatic chicken coop door for my chicken coop to make sure the door was open and closed if I wasn’t home to do it. We installed it a couple months early, before our chickens are able to go outside, to make sure it even works, to check on battery life, to see if it will work in the cold weather etc. The Chicken coop door arrived pretty fast (3 days!) installation was pretty easy (Our door opening is 13x13 inches wide so we put some rubber door insulation on the places it didn’t fit just right 👍) This door comes with awesome instructions and a video link to make sure you get it right. Set up is easy. It has different settings for times to open and close so you can customize it to just what you want. It will not crush your chickens or hands in the door, there is a sensor to make sure of that. We checked on the battery life the other day and it’s still at 100percent and that’s after being installed for about a month and really cold and wet and snowy weather. It did freeze open about 4 inches yesterday because of a ton of snow and temperatures around 12 degrees, but we cleaned the ice off the runners and manually closed and opened it and it works just fine now. I’m really impressed with this door and can’t wait to get my chickens outside! Edited 8-14-2023, I really like this automatic door. I program it to open at 6:30 AM and close at 9:15 PM and it does it’s job. It took my chickens a couple months to learn that they had to get inside their house when it started to get dark outside and now I know they’re going to be locked safely inside their coop if I’m not around to check on them.(My chickens are in an enclosed run, including their house, to keep them safe from predators), I’ve had this door operating since March and it says on the program panel that I still have 100% battery life. That’s really good I think! Very happy with this automatic door. Adding to my review on 1-18-2024: I am still loving this automatic door! I checked it last night to change the closing time since we are gaining a few minutes of daylight. We’ve had this door for almost a year now and I haven’t had to change out the batteries yet, last night it said they were at 80% battery life. I’ll probably change them out at 50% just to be on the safe side. We added a rubber flap over the top of the door to keep water from getting to the door and freezing it open or shut. This door has worked through extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures, has not crushed any of my chickens, thanks to the anti crush sensor.     • This door is awesome!
We used to let the chickens out each day but this door is a huge life saver. Takes some coaching the first day letting the chickens go in and out of the open doorway, getting them used to the very mild opening and closing sound of the door. But by the second day they took to it like clockwork. Adjusting the time is so easy. NOTE: Always check the time on the unit before adjusting the opening and close time as it doesn't automatically account for daylights savings. If you have it close at 6pm but 6pm has changed to 7pm and you didn't notice your chickens might get stuck outside the coop lol very easy to install. Very well made. Received Well packaged Omelet by FedX! The Direction are terrible. All different languages mixed up together in the instructions manual is confusing. Once you find your language make it so you can locate all instructions and use the scan code to see video. The door is Not hard to put together at all. Just make Sure you set up time on Miltary Time! If you change settings make sure the MT is correct!! If not your door will not open and close. Door is really nice size for large roosters and handicapped! Set up to wood door was few only a minutes.     • Works well at the perfect light level
2 year update: Still works really well, but it sometimes gets blocked by hay and dirt. When you close it on this debris, it automatically opens again, and then tries to close again. It will cycle like this a few times and will default to open. This isn't common and it's easy to avoid. Also, our chickens are not always inside when the daylight sensor goes off, and it locked out a chicken once. For this reason we're opening/closing by hand, but I would go back to daylight mode (my wife is too afraid). We have never lost a chicken because of this door, and we still think it works well and it's well made. Original batteries say they're at 85%. Original: We've had this for for about a month and we have it set to close at low light. We had to play with the perfect timing but it only took 3 nights. Seems reliable, and we no longer worry about getting home on time. There are many other automatic doors on Amazon with mixed reviews, and this one didn't come up until I specifically searched for it after reading a review saying to just buy this one. I'm glad I did.
