I can't speak highly enough of Omlet - they really understand chickens, customers, and customer service. If only every company operated this way! This is the first review I've ever felt compelled to write, simply based on how thoughtfully Omlet develops their products and serves their customers. I've owned several Omlet products, and their customer service really is outstanding, as are their manuals and instructional videos. I ended up losing some parts for my Autodoor, years after my initial purchase when moving the door to a new coop, and Omlet sent me the package that I needed - no questions asked and no invoice. I recently ended up needing another few screws that went missing in a move, and consulted the manual online which clearly had every screw labeled with dimensions so it was incredibly easy to replace. The Cube is no exception to Omlet's awesomeness - it went together in a couple of hour long sessions, and my girls took to it, after some gentle coaxing, within a couple of days. Everything is so easy to move, access & clean. I do miss the lofty ceilings of their old custom made wooden coop, however the girls don't seem to mind at all. The large nesting box is awesome, and I love being able to use wood shavings for nesting rather than expensive nesting pads. My cost and effort on procuring pine shavings and nesting pads has been eliminated, as now we just use wood shavings entirely. My only recommendation for improvement to Omlet would be to have the locking device for the large door access pre-installed, like it is on the nesting box. It has been no hardship though to not have this already in place. I look forward to years of happy girls and yummy eggs in their mid-century modern Cube. I'd highly recommend Omlet products to anyone that loves chicken keeping!! ... show more

We have been using ours for over two years as a chicken tractor with the added chicken run enclosure and we love it. Keeping chickens has had its ups and downs, but having a great coop to start with has made it so much more easier for us. Pros: Cool design, extremely sturdy, rainproof, easy access and cleaning. Cons: Expensive! Complicated assembly but all the parts were there. Instructions were so-so, lots of skipping around depending on whether you buy the attached run or not (I didn't.) Now I need to partially disassemble it to add the optional automatic door :( My girls are happy to lay their eggs in it, but so far won't sleep in it. I wanted to get away from the cheaply made 'cute' houses that barely last one season, and this fits the bill. Will update once the auto door is in. ... show more

Had mine for 4 years. So easy to clean- keeps chickens cool in 102F Texas summer, and warm in winter an safe and dry in torrential rains. It is basically a breathable well ventilated cooler. Large enough for 4-5 large hens and 8-10 bantams. They need a run with a roof though to make it work- this is for eggs and sleeping only. I use horse stall refresher (pdz- zeolite) in the tray and scoop it like a cat litter box and add to my compost. Mine is attached to homemade run. Eglu is designed so chickens naturally stay in the roost at night and in the nesting box for laying eggs avoiding a mess. For stubborn chickens it even has a sliding door to keep them out of the nest box at night. The roost is made as a removable piece with rounded plastic slats that they can grip and is comfortable on their feet and allows poop through to the tray. It allows them to cover their feet with feathers on freezing nights and my lazy Orpington who loves to nestle down at night loves it over her former wooden roost (she used to prefer sleeping in the nest box). I was worried about spending so much when cheap wood ones are available but so happy I did. Long lasting, predator proof, easy to clean. The plastic is uv resistant and should last decades and then recyclable. Mine has shown no wear in Texas sun and rain. My friends wooden coop bought at the same time is falling apart and no longer predator proof as the wood has deteriorated so much and it stinks as wood absorbs ammonia and is harder to clean. Only downside for me was chickens hate the ladder. They would probably get used to it but I just replaced it with a wooden one. I’m expecting it to last a lifetime. Mine also came with a feeder and waterer that I love. I bought from company not Amazon though. Omelet feeder is the only feeder I’ve found where they don’t dump it all on the ground. And finally my hen, who won’t eat oyster shells and who laid soft shelled eggs, started laying hard shelled eggs because she couldn’t just dump layer feed out and pick out the yummy bits. I love love love this coop. Wish it was 300 dollars less but investment was worth it to me.. Just don’t think about how much your eggs cost. ... show more

By far the nicest coop I have ever owned. I just dump the poo in the garden with a straw bail to make compost. Crazy easy to clean I own three of these. 2 for chickens 1 for ducks. The ducks I didn't use the stand. Great stuff!! Fits 4 pretty big ducks well. Fits 7 farm sized chickens well.
