I just got a pair of these 25# plates in and was excited to use them. I loaded them on my barbell and did a couple cleans and noticed some black shavings coming off. I thought maybe it was just loose rubber, but its actually already falling apart and the metal bearing is already coming loose. Extremely disappointed. Now having to pack this back up and attempt a return will be a huge hassle. ... show more

Extremely disappointed- this is a standard bar with the 10 pound bumper weights. All I added was an additional 10 to each side and this happened. I bought the bumpers to give spacing for hip thrusters but now I’m just worried the bumper weights will collapse.

    • What is that smell?

First off, the plates are fine. They're plates and they are what you'd expect. Good. Fine. Now, I dunno what the hell the "rubber" is made from but from the smell it must be some kind of chemical waste material. The smell coming off these things is so bad, it limits how much time I can spend using them. I was actually getting a headache and nauseous after about 20 minutes or so. I work out in the basement and even with an open window the smell is bad. Finally I resorted to taking them out in the backyard, hosing them down, wiping them off with disinfecting wipes, rinsing them again, drying them off and putting them in the garage for a few days to see if the smell dissipates. Yeah, it's that bad. Granted, I may be sensitive to whatever it is, but everyone one in the house has been like "What is that smell?" No other reviews have mention this issue, so maybe I got a weird pair. But at some point, I'm going to need more plates and most likely I'll be going with another brand. ... show more

Used these maybe three times before my gym closed—finally pulled them out and they did fine for my 3 afternoon deadlift sets. Didn’t immediately re rack (bc kids needed something). Come out after dinner and they are totally deformed. The bottom half folded in on itself and sink to the floor. What the?!? I regularly see bars left with bumper plates sitting around the gym and have never seen a melted pancake of a plate like these. Now they’re unusable. ... show more

Like other reviewers have said, the product arrived in a plastic bag that is very oily (and strong chemical smell). I followed another reviewer advice and wipe the plate down with anti‐bacterial wipe. I had to do it several times and let it air dry on my balcony for days before I can actually use it. I strong smell subside but haven't completely disappeared. It's been over a month since the purchase and now I think the plate is getting warp. I don't slam it on the ground. I just don't think it's made out of good quality material. I will not purchase this brand again. ... show more

I got these for about $44 shipped. In the COVID-19 era, when all workout equipment prices went sky high, that was a pretty good deal. Even before COVID-19, not a bad price. But you get what you pay for -- these are cheaper plates. But they work totally fine. They're plates. They weigh 10 pounds. They slide on the bar. What more do you want? Some specific notes: -- The people who complained about the smell aren't lying. There is a kind of rubber smell that is pretty strong. I'm sure it'll dissipate. When mine arrived, they were kind of greasy, for lack of a better word, but I just wiped them down and they were fine. I'm sure this is part of the manufacturing process. -- Compared to Rogue Hi-Temp 10-pound plate, which is the only thing I had to compare these to, these plates are thinner. -- With just 10-pound weights on a 45-pound bar, the plates do bend a fair amount. I've seen far worse bend for worn-in Rogue Hi-Temp plates, so I wasn't concerned. So bottom line: These are fine. Not great -- but fine. They work. ... show more

Not what I was hoping for. They came warped. They are also a couple mm larger than the hulkfit plates which makes them awkward when the weights are on the barbell together and on the ground. As for the positive, they fit my 2” barbell and they work better on the rack, yet they don’t sit flush with other plates because of the warping. In the pic, you can see the gap when placed on a straight bumper plate. I will contact the company to see what they say. ... show more

Bought these because of the price. They fit perfectly on my 2inch bars. I prefer soft weights for my trap bar so they dont clang.
