I have some technical background and there was a problem with the thermostat battery always needing to be recharged. My research confirmed that the Battery should be replaced. I got the replacement battery pkg. Now I have some experience in the electronic, but i would say you can't replace the, it just won't work. the connector it to tiny, to get the old Battery out is some challenge. But reconnecting to my experience is impossible. Someone may has better luck then me, I could not connect the little connector with those tiny pins. ... show more

Battery was DOA (I let it charge for 25 minutes but nothing happened) I installed it and the thermostat didn't boot up. I reinstalled the old battery and the thermostat boot up. Also, the cable is too short so I have to put the battery on its other side so the cable would reach the thermostat connector. ... show more

Did not solve my charging issue. Thermostat continues to show the same symptoms as before. My thermostat worked well for the first year as soon as the second winter came it would not charge and hold a charge.

    • Replacement battery fixed my wifi drop issue.
Nest replacement battery fixed my issue where wifi would constantly drop. Battery now stays consistently at 3.85 volts where as the previous battery would constantly drop to 3.7 volts. I messed up and forcefully ripped off the old battery and the connector from the board while removing the old battery which I did by mistake. Thus had to solder the new battery wires onto the pads. ... show more
