I got this for my living room. It looks better than in the picture. Yes, it is laminate over a particle board but it feels really solid. I spent a day on and off assembling, probably a total of 3 hours by myself (there are a lot of pieces). They want you to use a hand screwdriver because you can strip out the holes if you aren't careful. But, to save my sanity, I used a drill and just went slow with it. At some point, you have to use the supplied allen wrench and you are hating life using that tiny little thing on a big section. Additionally, the manual shows assembly on the side. At one point I had someone help me flip it upside down and it made assembly on the top a lot easier. That was only so pieces didn't fall apart during the flip. I also had them help me flip it back upright to finish assembly since it was heavy. The manual was easy to follow and more importantly, everything was labeled and all the 10,000 parts were all there. They even included spares in case something went wrong. I appreciated the "wood" stickers to cover the exposed hardware. The cabinet is a good size and easily holds all my TV add-ons and boxes. I love this and am so pleased with this item. Great price, fast shipping. This is a great looking, very solid and well made piece of furniture and you can’t beat the price. It’s show with a 65” Fire TV. Assembly was pretty straightforward for my husband with me as a helper. It was actually a bit of a pain as there are a lot of pieces but it was totally worth it. I bought this a while ago prior to moving, and it took me a while to be able to take time to put it together. First off, it was packed beautifully. Everything marked clearly, and protected from any possible shipping mishaps. When I unpacked it to check that everything was there, I became a little overwhelmed. There are so many pieces, and it is big! I thought I might have bit off more than I can chew. I took a lot of time to assemble this, as I am older (60's) and hubby disabled and unable to help much. I did it over several days, only working on it an hours or so a day. I found it heavy, and a couple of sections in the directions a bit confusing. Had to think it through to make sure I was putting it together correctly. I did find it rather difficult to assemble, as the cam screw bolt holes are not threaded, just 'started', so you HAVE to make sure you check every single angle to make sure it is screwed in straight! They lean or go in askew, and I found this time consuming and a bit annoying after the first few. They are cam bolts and locks, and I found 3 out of the 48 locks would not really tighten. There are about 50 wooden dowels, so you will need more wood glue than provided, IMO. I did need some assist holding the large sections together once I was getting near the end, and I took time to let the glue dry and set before completing the sections. Probably one of the reasons it took me so long, as well as my arthritic hands. Once finished, I was very pleased. I really like it, and the doors slide smoothly. I put my smallish (42") TV on, and it looks great. Planning of getting a little bigger TV soon, and this stand seems heavy and sturdy, as it states it holds up to 65" TV, and I believe it will no problem. I need to put my sound bar on yet, and there is ample room for it. One note, they recommend you bolt it to the wall with provided straps for stability, so you would need a drill, etc. I did not do this. I am always skeptical of the quality of any furniture where I have to put it together myself, but I gambled, and I’m glad I did! I am very happy with the quality of the piece, including the finish and sturdiness. I can’t speak for people who bought the other finishes but I love the antique white! The packaging was awesome, the large parts were all clearly marked, and the small parts were all clearly marked in their own individuals bags (and they provide a bag of spare parts as well). It took me probably an hour and a half to finish. The instructions were very easy to follow. If you mess it up then it’s simply user error. Lay everything out, take your time, and you should be good. It’s not a thousand dollar Pottery Barn piece of furniture but for what it cost I absolutely love it and highly recommend! ... show more
