  • A simple product that works
Nothing much to say here other than that it gets the job done. Quality is fine for what it is. If you're looking for a basic disc compression tool that works, this is it.

  • Great alternative to the C-Clamp method
For years I had been using a generic large C-Clamp for compressing the caliper pistons. While this does work, it is rather ungainly to deal with. Decided to try this product as an inexpensive alternative. Price was right and this tool works very well. Doesn’t take up much space and is quick to use. I recommend it for those DIYers who prefer to do their own brake jobs. ... show more

  • Good tool
It is very good but I know from experience that if a caliper piston is difficult to compress with this thing then it means that caliper will likely be sticking later.and i have stripped the plastic knob from the screw before so if you have to pull out a dual pistonspreader out and gotta use a lever with some real strength then yeah... That caliper will lock up like this silly 1996 Ford bronco autohub I worked on... Well, it immediately began sticking and pulling to the left. The car that actually stripped on of these type of of screw brake piston retractorthingies was a Toyota Camry. Dude was broke, needs front pads and rotors cause the were grinding etc and didn't want at least that single brake caliper if he couldn't replace both front calipers... It didn't lock up but who knows. That one probably did begin to stick later on. Otherwise this particular brake piston screw type thingamajig serves me well. Only used it on easy working newer production vehicles with less than 5 years in em although. ... show more

  • An expensive tool
The most versatile underrated tool to have when you need to push back the cylinder on the brick no power required except from the use of your hands to turn it very expensive

  • It does the job
Not well made, the push metal on the front of the tool falls off when not in use

  • Totally Worth It!
I do most car maintenance myself, and in the past, have done anything possible to try and reset the brake caliper, sometimes even opening up the brake lines. Instead of dealing with having to bleed the lines after, or figure out some backend way to get the caliper to budge, I thought I would give this a try. And man did it work! I would assume the others that are similar would work as well, but this one did great and was the most economical one I saw. You may have to keep one of the pads in to create a flat surface for it to push against, especially if you have a two-caliper brake set-up like the front of my car does. But definitely a time and energy saver! ... show more

  • works perfectly well, farewell c-clamps
I have always used a c-clamp to compress the brake calipers but today's brakes are more sophisticated (dare I say fragile) so for my daughter's car I did not want to take any chances. This tool worked well and was easy to use. Compression plate is rigid, not flimsy.
