Description

Oceanus EEL Leash Brand New never opened. Don’t lose your board again!!!! Designed specifically for kiteboarders by Oceanus who have designed the EEL. The EEL is an extendable board leash that saves you from losing and endlessly chasing your board while kiteboarding. The EEL is the latest in the Oceanus line and incorporates a number of popular modifications all wrapped into one unit. It has a reinforced feed port of the unit from the inside making this model more similar in size, weight, and appearance to our STANDARD REEL, while offering the increased durability of our Heavy Duty REEL REINFORCED model. A snap clip with a 270 pound breaking strength is used to connect the leash to the 30 inch rope extension connected to the board. In place of our standard shock cord is a 30-inch rope extension. This rope extension is doubled over, stitched, then rubberized to toughen it up and better repel water. The rope extension is then attached to the board using your fin screws and the woven connector strap included. If you damage or lose your rope extension or most other leash parts they can be replaced a minimal cost.     • Safe but not for jumping
Its good if you are not going to practice jumps, it doesn’t allow the Kiteboard to rebound . when you fall, the board will kept away and you can retract it safely just don’t use it if you practicing jumps

    • I love it - but with some caveats
Although lots of kiters will tell you this is dangerous, I love it - but with some caveats. First, attach it to the end or corner of your board, NOT the handle - attaching to the handle can 'load up' the board when it drags in the water, snapping it back at you or breaking the handle. Also, the reel was great, but after about ~15 days in the water, the bounce went out of it's bungee - it stopped reeling all the way up, leaving me with an annoying and maybe even dangerous loop slapping around my legs. Nevertheless, it does what it says, and forget the haters, it makes my sessions that much more awesome. ... show more

This is a great product, but you have to use an abundance of care using it. The kiteboarding industry will tell you is totally bad and nobody should use it, and they are ready to sell you, new board. So don't use it if you think it may get caught in a wave or if you do jumps and transitions, but for slow paste kiting till you get in speed is great. Wearing water helmet is a good option ... show more

    • Great for beginner/intermediate kiteboarding.
Works perfectly: lets out enough slack to get your kiteboard clear of you as you fall, then gently returns the board to you so you don't spend all day chasing it. (More experienced kiters tell me they don't need it, and they say you shouldn't use it when you're jumping -- but I'm not there yet.)

I love this. It has saved me so much time and my willingness to try new moves has gone up. I am a beginner/intermediate kiter and this has helped me progress faster for sure.

Works well, but according to Kite experts id this product forbidden to use in many countries due to the danger of beeing hit with your own board.
