We create three types of content. Lives (streaming/Twitch), shorts (TikTok), and long form content (YouTube). This camera has changed how we produce all of our content, for the better. 1. The camera is actually good. The lens is a 23mm f/1.8. If you know about camera lenses, then you know how much that alone could cost. We've tried a few different cameras over the years and this one is seriously good for the price. 2. Our workflow while we record in the shop is so much more efficient because of the AI tracking features. The time we spent moving one camera from place to place in the shop is now just placing the camera in an angle that can see most of our workspace and then we use hand gestures to track and zoom. 3. Connectivity is easy since there are multiple ways to connect the tail air. You can plug in the camera via the USB-C cable and start filming or you can connect via (NDI license which can be purchased separately) or even a USB to ethernet adapter. 4. OBSBOT has a remote control for the system too, so you could control all features of the tail air from a distance that way, if your content limits that ability to use hand gestures. Those are just the quick good points. We use the camera as our main streaming camera. The tail air can integrate with our stream deck allowing us to have quick buttons for different angles of the room, different preset zoom points, and quick AI tracking. Since the tail air has all of these features, we have eliminated all the other cameras from our streaming setup. In the OBSBOT App you can control all camera settings, like your ISO, shutter speed, auto focus, white balance, and frame rates. You can even go as far as to apply your temperatures, brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness to the video being recorded. While the $499 price tag may seem high initially, I can assure you that you will not get this quality of camera, with all these features, for anywhere close to this amount anywhere else. ... show more

I’ve been doing Zoom physical therapy and personal training sessions since the beginning of the pandemic, and got tired of constantly repositioning my laptop with its built-in camera so the therapist & trainer could see me as I moved through the exercises. I knew PTZ cameras existed, but they were prohibitively expensive. When I saw the 1080p version of this camera, I figured I might as well try it—but didn’t expect much, because it was a fraction the price of other PTZ cameras. Turns out it works shockingly well. Setup was pretty much plug-and-go. I did download the app so I could choose the settings that worked best for my use case, but I think even that is optional. The video quality, according to the therapist and trainer, is very good, and the built-in audio is good enough (I think it works with external mics too, but haven’t needed to try one). Its optical zoom range is not quite as long as some of the more expensive PTZ cams, but it’s enough for my purposes. It does a great job of tracking me as I move around: the only times it has stopped tracking are when I’ve been flailing around with my hands during the exercises, probably unintentionally making the hand motion that instructs the camera to stop following. All in, the earlier version of this camera has been one of my best tech accessory purchases. So much so that when I needed to set up another location with a camera, I bought this new 4K version. Works exactly like the 1080p version, but with even better video quality. Let me start you out with wow just WOW. Not only is the Tail Air big but the quality is great. The features are ground breaking with NDI, Bluetooth, and enhanced tracking; as well as the standard features from OBSBOT. The Tail Air has up to 2.5 hrs of battery life so you can take you camera out and record out door and not be limited to your content. The tracking capability is off the charts it can track people, animals, and objects. The quality of it is amazing it can do 4k 30fps or 1080p 60fps. The build quality is great with easy access to plug in. The gestures I feel like is picked up much easier than the tiny 2 and that is refreshing. Seeing a company to go up and beyond the standards, as well as expanding the boundaries of streaming/content creation has me excited and hopeful for the future!     • Simple to use and quality video
LOVE IT. This webcam is incredibly simple to use. Except for learning the simple hand gestures to enable the auto-tracking, you really don't even need the instruction manual, it's that intuitive. Video quality is excellent and I have tried it in a variety of settings: business related SM recordings, Zoom meetings, low light, back light, contrasty light, and more. The auto-tracking is great, though I will say it can occasionally lose you if you move too quickly or suddenly jerk away from the camera (an issue I can't see coming up in most settings or Zoom calls.) The focal length of the lens is perfect for a huge variety of uses - you can do desktop Zoom calls or full body shots (like in an interactive yoga class) with little to no distortion. I also really like the ability to mount it on my desktop, on a normal tripod head, or just leave it freestanding on a desk or tabletop. Super lighweight and portable, and the case that is included provides great protection. So why not 5 stars? SOLELY an Amazon issue and that's pricing. The OBSBOT website has occasional sales and the difference between their sale price and the regular Amazon price can be substantial. I saved around $70 by returning the Amazon order and buying direct from the manufacturer. Yes, delivery took a day or two longer but I was totally ok with that. Frankly, after using it and seeing the quality of the webcam and the videos it creates, I'd actually be fine paying full price on Amazon - but why turn down a deal if you can get one? ... show more
