I like that is a very fast little scanner but I work in a lot of Toyotas n other Japanese cars n it doesn’t have very bidirectional functions for those cars

Powered it on and updated it, it just starts executing commands on its own and glitching out. I’m guessing this is not a legitimate tool or it was a lemon. It was returned.

This appears to be a really impressive tool with tons of capabilities - as long as you purchase more modules and/or subscriptions per car model. The instruction manual does not provide any information on this other than to say 'Visit the store'. As it is, I cannot evaluate the tool without additional purchases. I had two bad experiences in a row with the ThinkCar OBD bluetooth dongles. The first was Thinkcar, the next was MuCar. They both sucked up huge amounts of space on my phone, and I had all sorts of troubles getting either one to work. Customer support was not very helpful. But people tend to rave about the other ThinkCar products, and I'm glad I didn't write them off completely, because this device is great. It's easy to use, connected immediately, and I was getting my codes within 5 minutes of unboxing. Further, it has some great intuitive features. For example, when you snap a screenshot, it automatically puts them in a file for the vehicle you're working on. So you can scan 20 cars in a row, and sort them out later. The back camera is very crisp, so you can include video or photos with your codes. It's a ThinkCar operating system, but it works pretty much like a phone or tablet (ie, swipe down for settings). It definitely does more than your standard OBD (for example, providing transmission codes). What codes it provides depends completely on the make and model. But if you want advanced features, you have to pay the subscription of $50 per year, per manufacturer. I'll also note, on other ThinkCar devices I had to register them, which was a challenge. On this device, I could use without registering. Also, they recommend updating the device as soon as you get it, but I didn't. Based on my previous experience with this brand, I didn't want to jinx it. I wasn't working on new vehicles and didn't think the update would be relevant. After scanning several vehicles, I didn't notice any problems, so I may just skip the update. ... show more

Fast Beginning Manual, I followed bit by bit to arrangement, register and update THINKTOOL SCANNER. Register with Email address to Make a Record. After Email address entered a six digit code with most extreme time period of purpose is shipped off move to subsequent stage of entering Chronic Number and Enactment Code. When entered the gadget is enlisted. Time Region is Manual choice as it doesn't naturally set from Wireless association. There are a great deal of cool and valuable frill that you can buy to use with this however sadly they are stunningly costly and as I would like to think not worth the little expansion in capacity versus the enormous expansion in cost. This little instrument will allow you to do a wide range of star level things with your vehicle. With the ongoing expense of administration at a shop, on the off chance that this recoveries you even 2 excursion you'll probably make back the initial investment. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is a great quality scan tool! The 5" color touch screen is bright and easy to read. This tool is very easy to use. It guides you through everything and you really can't mess anything up. There is a wireless Bluetooth dongle it comes with that you plug into the OBD2 port and it connects to the scanner wirelessly to it. This is very high end and I really like this as you don't need to be tethered to the dashboard to do your troubleshooting. This work for any vehicle 1996 or newer. You can diagnose any problems, reset any light, clear any code and it also has like 28 maintenance functions that allow you to do things like reset oil service lights, TPMS sensors, Test window switches and window motors, etc... You can pretty much do anything with this scanner to any make or model car. It also comes with lifetime FREE software updates so this tool will never be obsolete. I really like Thinkcar as a brand and this tool definitely lives up to the name. This is a small, extremely capable tool. Using it one time pretty much pays for it as the prices that dealers charge for repair these days are insane. This tool is great value for the money and I recommend it. ... show more

    • Works like a charm to find codes
The media could not be loaded. I got this tool for my husband because he is a lifelong mechanic and was recently working on troubleshooting his truck. He had a different tool, but after using this one, he was thrilled with it, so he tested his buddie's sprinter van that recently had a check engine light issue. They were able to find all sorts of things, troubleshoot and solve the issues. It was easy to set up, basically turn it on. It has a comprehensive database of vehicles, and the Bluetooth connection to the dongle worked perfectly. It's awesome because it's wireless and you can walk around the car and not be stuck in the driver's seat. Overall, I highly recommend this tool for work or personal use. ... show more
