The shell is very soft cotton, comfortable for sleeping and the stitching keeps the fill evenly distributed. My only downside was a user error- don’t let laundry rookies wash it in hot water, since it’s cotton it shrinks aaand now we have a queen comforter. Absolutely love this comforter. We have only had it a couple of days, but so far, so good! After a couple of cheaper, disappointing purchases for the down-alternative comforters, we found this, and it is very comparable to the “hotel-style” cover we wanted. We have the king size, and we washed it and air dried prior to use. It’s cool enough for summer, but will also be warm enough for winter. It’s sufficiently fluffy, with the moral comfort of knowing I didn’t get real down, and it’s a pretty soft cotton. It also fits the bed well. Overall very satisfied! ... show more

DO NOT RECOMMEND! The seams on this comforter are TERRIBLE and I would strongly like to return. Unfortunately, I threw my former comforter away therefore, if I return this comforter I will be cold until I purchase a new comforter. I don’t like spending money on things that are “worn out,” before I can utilize it. Disappointed in the lack of quality and would not recommend. See pictures! When I opened the plastic covering the duvet immediately began to push out and fill with air. The fabric is so soft, and could easily be used as a comforter, I use it as an insert for a duvet cover.
