This seems to fit the bill. I will say that we use a portable AC in the room at night but I still get pretty warm with a comforter. Not with this one. I’m one that has always liked the plush duvet’s that I can bunch up around me like a cocoon but can’t do that in the summer months in Texas. This one may not be as fluffy but it’s enough to give that comfort feeling and breathable at the same time. I washed and dried this prior to use and it softened up a bit. I prefer to sleep with 100% cotton against my skin. So sheets, comforter, any blanket has to be 100% cotton, at least the outside. The filling feels like poly, kinda like alternative down, but not as much pile as I hoped. It’s okay though, because I live in the south and the blanket keeps me warm. Otherwise, it’s soft and smooth and looks good. I like to layer with a quilt or blanket over the white comforter. I’m not a fan of duvet covers. ... show more

When I opened the plastic covering the duvet immediately began to push out and fill with air. The fabric is so soft, and could easily be used as a comforter, I use it as an insert for a duvet cover.
