  • Great little amp, but some things to know
My seller was Burlingdes. Very quick shipping! I've been waiting for this amp to arrive on the market. It has many features, but to fully avail all of the features you need to use the app. While using the Android version of the MightyAmp Mobile app, I found out a few things. First of all, I also have the NUX Mighty Lite BT amp and it uses the same app. I was able to Bluetooth connect to the NUX Mighty Air app and when I went into the app, it allowed me to choose between the NUX Mighty Air or the NUX Mighty Lite BT amps. However, when I tried to use the app for the NUX Mighty Air, none of the features worked. I had sound, but that was all. I disconnected the wireless and used a cable. I re-synced everything. Nothing was working. I eventually had to go to my Bluetooth settings in my phone and unpair the NUX Mighty Lite BT AND the NUX Mighty Air. Then re-pair the NUX Mighty Air. Everything worked after that. This amp sounds very good. It has a lot of selections for effects, amps (including an acoustic simulator), modulation, reverbs and more. Depending upon your guitar, you can dial it in and really have some great sounds. It is loud for it's size and the dual speakers make this a cut above many other small amps. The wireless is easy to sync and I was over 30' away from the amp and didn't notice any difference in sound. Note - The wireless can charge when plugged into the amp, but the amp has to be turned on. Recommend plugging in a USB charger (NUX states 2A) into the amp while charging the wireless. The amp does not come with a micro-B USB for charging the wireless transmitter independently. I prefer to charge the wireless by itself. (Wireless is a NUX B-5RC.) The only way to control the drum and Jamtrack volume is to use the drum volume knob on the top of the amp. Can't turn it up using the app. Kind of a pain if you are sitting out of arms reach of the amp. The drums sound great, but are somewhat difficult to dial in the right beat that you are looking for. Jamtrack sounds great. There are a variety of jams to play along with. If you look at the Jamtrack screen in the app on the right side, you will see a selection that allows you to continuously loop the track that you are listening to or go to the next track. My favorite is a jam based on The Thrill Is Gone. I practice with this amp and while this COVID 19 stuff is around, jam with a couple of guys (a bass player and another guitarist) - social distancing. This amp is louder than what I need for that, so I keep the volume at about 60%. Love the fact that this has an acoustic simulator as well as distorted tones so that we can play a wide variety of music! I would definitely buy it again and would recommend it. Note - I was not compensated in any manner for this review. ... show more

  • Size Matters
I drive a truck and space in my sleeper is at a premium. This little amp coupled with the hofner travel bass is perfect. They both just slip into a corner and ride taking up virtually no space. I can pull them out and tinker with them anywhere, anytime. This gives me a pretty good range of really cool sounds. It's wireless so I only have to charge it up from time to time and I didn't have to set up any kind of fancy power supply just to play. It's not big enough to play in a large or noisy environment. But it is just right for playing in my truck's sleeper when I'm just sitting. Plus, I can plug it into my bigger amp at home via the headphone jack. Just buy a head phone to input adapter and viola, instant poor man's head unit controlled by app on a touch screen. ... show more

  • This Little Thing Kicks A$$
This thing is feature rich with the addition of the mobile app. It has tons of tones and modifying/creating them is super easy with the app. The sound is exceptional given the size of the unit. Going wireless is a bonus and I couldn't notice any lag. I haven't tested the battery duration yet, but I am hopeful the numbers are close to what was advertised. I like this better than the Mighty Max Pro headphone amp as this gives me the option to play with or w/o headphones. I am very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

  • Works for me
I drive a truck and needed a practice amp to take on the road with me. Based on pure convenience, this little thing delivers. Set up and Bluetooth integration with your smartphone is effortless and you will be editing your own patches in minutes. It's actually pretty loud, I have to leave the volume at about 5 to avoid any potential speaker damage. My only gripe and it's a bit nitpicky - I'd like to see a better variety or at least some more diverse amp models. I'm used to playing with the pod studio, where your amp sims are virtually limitless. For anyone who does any kind of travel - buy this amp. It's much more convenient than the amp plug headphone practice amps. The wireless transmitter for your guitar works great, I haven't had a single issue and love the fact that it charges when plugged into the amp input. ... show more

  • Sounds kinda small and thin, but fun models and effects.
The media could not be loaded. This is pretty useful as a little portable desktop practice amp, with lots of amp models and effects. In the end though, I’ll be selling mine, because it just sounds to thin and tinny to be enjoyable, for me. Probable limited by the tiny plastic enclosure and tiny speaker. I demoed a positive grid spark yesterday, which is considerable bigger, not as portable, but still desktop sized, and it sounded way huger and warmer. The next size up Nux Mighty Space might sound better, but it’s quite a bit more $$. I think I’ll get me a positive grid, sounds so much better, it’s not even close. I have a Roland micro cube that also blows this away in both quality and volume. Just not as portable. if portability and travel is your main concern, then this is a good solution. But for desktop home use, the other slightly larger solutions sound literally 1000 times better, it’s not even funny. ... show more

  • Poor man's Boss Katana Air
I've been wanting this for a while and finally made up my mind to get it. I have the NUX mighty lite and as fun as it was I felt like it was lacking and I wanted more. Now that I've had the mighty air for a few days I really like it even though the speakers can't handle a lot of bass at high volume but that was to be expected with small speakers. So far I'm absolutely loving it but I can't seem to get it to play music from my phone like the old mighty lite bt does. ... show more
