The cast iron jaw broke in two after one day of use! the forging was bad quality. I'd love a refund, but it's a week after the 30-day mark and we didn't get to use it until last week. incredibly bad steel casting. I seldom leave reviews but I don't want someone to have this happen to them.

This is a great unit for woodworkers and hobbyist the best two features are, the way it tighten to what ever you are using as a table top. In my case a granite one. The other feature is the ability to rotate the axis (clamps) to a front facing position. Yes it does hold tightly items one is working on at the moment. I don't know what I expected for this cheap but it's a lot smaller than I anticipated. It doesn't inspire confidence but it is ok for light projects. Don't buy this expecting to replace your harbor freight or Lowe's big garage vice (no idea what size most normal garage vices are). It is ok for what I needed it for though which was to hold my work piece which 90% of the time is a 6 or 7 pound surplus firearms and it's barely big enough for that application. As long as your expectations are low considering your buying a mini vice off Amazon I think you'll be happy but if your e expecting to death grip something while you hammer away you will be sorely disappointed. I liked the way it closes smoothly and it is sturdy for a 3 inch vise. The only bad is that it's full of sharp edges and burrs. I quickly took a file to the edges just in case I slipped and cut myself. Overall Nice Vise.

I have been using a PLASTIC bullet puller to pound on the anvil flat. After several strikes, the anvil began to CAVE IN. It is just a thin piece of metal plate and not solid. Cheap c$%p.

This little vise is surprisingly beefy and strong. The vise comes with protective inserts for the jaws to protect any items clamped within. The hardy clamp for mounting to the table is very strong. I really appreciate the swivel feature as it locks down securely as needed. Tom

    • vice cracked shortly after purchase

I've never seen a vice crack in havp, but this one did, i was clamping a small eylet crimp connector, so i could drill it out, i didn't put much pressure, and the entire vice cramped in half. Its too late for me to return. I'm very disappointed at the quality.
