These are great tools to use during the very early stage of baby-led-weaning of solid foods. I use these spoons to teach my baby to bring food into his mouth (with/without my physical guidance) with less mess as the food can be easily contained inside them. I use these spoon(s) especially when my baby refuses the food that I feed him with (using another brand) during the first few weeks of trying various purees and soft solid baby foods. When I hand the spoon to him (with the food in it), he easily accepts and brings it to his mouth. He seems attracted to the colors, and he likes the texture as he uses it as his teether as well when he has swallowed the food. Another advantage of using this utensil during baby's learning phase of eating is that you encourage the baby to move his tongue in different directions (mainly side to side) to "scoop" the food out of the spoon, thus strengthening his tongue muscles and facilitating oral-motor coordination. I bought these spoons for my baby who just turned 6months and has started solids and this is by far the smartest purchase. These are great for mashed foods (avocado, bananas, etc) because the food doesn’t slip from the spoon and therefore more goes inside baby’s mouth. They’re also the perfect size for her little hands to hold and I’m sure it feels good on her gums since the texture probably acts as a teether. My baby is almost 5 months old and is on purees/ some super soft foods. I wanted to work on his motor skills with holding a spoon and brining the spoon to his mouth. He was having a difficult time with standard spoons but since getting this product it’s helped so much. He does the motion with ease and I don’t have to worry that he’s taking too big of a bite. These spoons are my favorite! They help baby learn to eat, especially when starting to self feed and coordination isn't the best. My baby loves to feed herself with them although I do have to help with scooping and not everything sticks to it easily. Still, it is our favorite utensil to use!

We love these “spoons” for our 8mo old. He loves being able to hold his own utensil to feed himself. These work great and keep the food from falling all over him, the floor, his clothes etc… my biggest complaint is the handle should be stickier so it makes it easier for the baby to hold on to, even when they get food on it. Right now, when my baby eats, the food gets on his hands and then he grips this utensil and it gets slippery and I have to wipe it down every few minutes so he can keep it in his hand. I highly recommend this product regardless but would definitely improve the product in my opinion. ... show more

This is our second set of these, we love them that much! Were pretty minimalistic when it comes to buying baby things but we splurged with our first and bought a set of these. They were great! I never spoon fed my son, just loaded these up and let him feed himself. It was a mess but worth it! Starting solids with baby #2 soon and I grabbed a second set of these asap. Even though our babe is only 5 months old we love letting him practice by giving him these to gnaw on while we eat our dinner. I give these to all my friends with their baby shower gifts.
