Needs a power source if used outdoors, it has no handle for easy porting, but it is light enough for one of the big kids to carry. SELF-CLEANING? Not really. Someone needs to be around to put in fresh water & any recommended cleaning solution, unplug the reservoir and drain the cleaning solution waters , and then add fresh rinse water a couple of times, however, the machine does not need to be disassembled. The ice basket and scoop are easily hand washed. The only ice flavor manufacturer approved is fresh, clean water. I've seen social media vids making flavored, brightly colored ice. Self-cleaning? Not likely, somebody will have to be there to change the cleaning water. ICE IN 7 MINS, UP TO 34# CLEAR ICE PER DAY: In 7 mins there will be a few little chucks that would dilute but not chill. In 24 hours "up to 34 pounds"... they're talkin' workin' shifts, and fudgin' "up to" that "34 pound" number. Like other reviewer comments, I agree it is annoying that a basket of ice will have melted ice water running out the bottom. Problem is the reservoir space is just not cold enough. This summer was a hot one and it was difficult for our fridge to keep up with our demand for ice. I love the texture of the ice that it produces and it makes the ice pretty quickly. As a tip make sure that you keep the vents clear when the ice maker is running. The only negative is that it's a little louder than expected but for noisy house it's not a big deal. The ice maker also comes with a perfect cute scooper!! The chord is long so it can be placed anywhere easily. Lastly the ice maker is incredibly easy to operate. I like that this machine is easy to clean and that it makes ice within six minutes. The product matches my other appliances and it does not take up too much space. I have not had any leakage and there is no smell. This ice machine does not make a lot of noise. and the noise it does make alerts you to fill the water and to empty the ice so new ice can be made. The ice maker on our refrigerator went out, so this is better than buying a new fridge by a long shot. It is NOT "Sonic Ice" or particularly small on the "small" setting, but it's fine. It takes a while to get much I've, so I fill a container to have in the freezer. The ice is not really very cold, and is pretty wet when it goes in, which makes it freeze into clumps, but it isn't too hard to break apart. The cubes with a hole in the middle cool drinks fast, but they also melt super fast. This is just FYI, though. I don't regret buying it, and I'm happy with the purchase. ... show more

The item LOOKED ok. We set it up and it just did not work. I tried to process a return. No return/exchange was available. My only option was to return it-pay for return shipping then pay for a new unit in a new order. Kind of a hassle really. HOWEVER as soon as I tried to initiate the return their CS team reached out. I explained in an email the set up steps we followed and described what happened and that the machine produced zero ice. They asked for PICTURES of it not working. A picture of it not working it literally just a picture of the machine with its little red light of death on. They wanted more pictures. I offered to send a video as that might be more helpful but nope, they wanted pictures. We went back and forth for weeks. I finally got completely frustrated and just ate the cost, threw the foolish thing out and bought another from a different source which is working perfectly. It is awesome truly good product use it a lot during the day quality of ice perfect no leaking so easy to use for being small very fast fastest one yet cubes can be different sizes appreciate the ice bags also sturdy

This is a really really nice unit and fills up a 1 gallons bag of ice in a matters of ours. It’s fairly quiet and leaves no taste or residue. Totally satisfied so far.
