Incredible that you can get a machine like this for less than $100. And yes, I purchased it, and no I am not a spam/paid reviewer. It is well designed and well built. It is not supposed to be a precision industrial or laboratory grade tool, it is a hobby grade tool and for that purpose it is excellent value for the money. I was going to get a Dremel tool drill press stand, but got this instead and glad I did. Any drill press device with a mount for a drill, is vulnerable to the drill being installed off axis, resulting in wobble. This drill press is well aligned - no wobble. Only negative comment is about the instructions. There are none. You are directed to view the video for that purpose. Which is fine - is a well done video. But what happens in a year or two when the product is no longer on Amazon. So, I used the Windows Snipping Tool to record the video, and now I have my own MP4 copy. Would have been nice to just be able to download the video from Amazon. ... show more

The drill is great, it's lightweight, easy to adjust, pretty quiet, and does a fantastic job for bead work. The only criticism I have is that the vice arm is wobbly unless it is entirely closed, either by itself or with an object held by it, so the vice itself is not great for minor adjustments that you'd expect for a device designed for very small things. I'll probably be shopping for a better quality vice somewhere but the drill itself is really awesome. ... show more

Like a lot of reviewers here, I was prepared for disappointment. My workspace is too small for a full-size bench drill press, yet hand-drilling is just never accurate for me. This little drill press fills the need 100%. Generally good build quality, easy to assemble following the videos here on Amazon, and a nice smooth feeling to the up/down movement. No wobble or skew is apparent. The only downside is the very poor clamp part it comes with. Quite shoddy and doesn't work without a lot of cajoling. Overall, top marks on this, for the money it is a great way to do small hobbyist drilling! ... show more

An excellent drill press for miniature work! Was able to drill a 1.00mm hole through a 1/4"(6.00mm) thick mild steel block with no problem AND w/o lube! My only complaint is the poor quality vise that doesn't suit the same quality of the drill press and would recommend getting the 50mm Mini Aluminum Flat Clamp Drill Press Vise, you can't miss it as it has a red movable jaw! ... show more

For years I have used a high precision drill for my modelbuilding hobby, but I have reached a stage of life where I can no longer justify having a $2,400 tool sitting on my workbench. So, I sold it and bought this one, which is not as precise but works fine for my purposes. I have seen several similar designs online, but they all shipped from China. This one arrived in two days from a U.S. address. It runs on 24 volts but comes with a power block that plugs into 120 volts. The power block has a slide switch with seven different settings to control the speed of the drill. The quarter-inch chuck will hold drills down to about #70. For smaller sizes, I use carbide drills with 1/8" shanks. This drill is very quiet and stable, with a heavy cast steel base. It also takes up a lot less space on my bench than my old one. ... show more

    • Nice, small drillpress.
Always looking for smaller and smaller tools like this for my kitchen table "shop", this is about the best so far. Motor and chuck are precise, but on starting to move the lever, a slight movement of the tip of the bit can be seen. Probably will not have an observable effect on the work but they could have easily tightened up that tolerance. Also, the drill stop adjustment should have been by a threaded rod, instead of a smooth rod held by a set screw, which is not easy to set accurately, unless you have three hands. Of course, this is a fairly inexpensive tool, and well worth the money. And I recommend it. I only mentioned those things in the hope that the sellers might read this and take it into account on their next product. ... show more

This is a quality product in my opinion. Although I have used it as a drill press my main purpose in buying it was to use it as a vertical milling machine and to that end it has served me well. Good power/torque on the highest speed setting. In my opinion the included vice is worthless because the bolts tighten from the bottom, and it would be very awkward lining up the drill bit in the precise location for the drill. As you can see with the motor in the downward position it can really limit stock placement. An upward facing motor would free up a whole lot of table real estate and made work go smoother.     • Not very safe?
Cute machine. Should drill fine in my silverware jewelry. Though I do worry about the safety of the open belt drive on top and the on/off switch directly behind it. Working at a welding/fabricating shop, I should have no problems having a cover built.
