I just saw that this speaker set (two identical notabrick speakers), that I purchased not quite a year ago, is "unavailable". So sad as this was one of the great Amazon purchases I've made. The sound out of this little "brick" is rich -- a good compromise of highs and lows. Clear tones and great with TV, computer and voice. The Bluetooth connectivity has some surprises in store. First I turn on the #1 Notabrick speaker. It connects via Bluetooth to my computer. Then I turn on the #2 Notabrick. It comes on and automatically connects to the other speaker AND my computer. I have full left and right channel sound. Even better, when I turn #1 off, #2 shuts down automatically. They are both very portable, fit on a shelf or table or beach anywhere and the charge on the rechargeables lasts quite a whiie. When these become available again, I would not hesitate to buy more as gifts and extras. Wonderful product. ... show more

Having used a few models of Ultimate Ear Winderboom BT speakers I was skeptical I'd be getting something nearly as good. But money was a concern this time so I took a chance. Now, listening to this speaker side by side with my Wonderboom I can say with certainty that this is damn close to being just as good. The bass doesn't go quite as low but honestly for a speaker the size of a coffee mug and the price of bag of doog food it goes deeper than I'd expect. The mids are neither too forward nor too recessed. They're well balanced with a natural timbre and project a wide soundstage to nearly 180 degrees on each side. The high frequencies are a bit more prominent than I usually like (I'm a warm / relaxed speaker kinda guy) but they're certainly not bright. And honestly for a speaker that'll probably play at pool parties, outdoor gatherings, and the like, a more exuberant high end will probably be needed so the music to not get lost in the shuffle. As is I can listen to it for a long time with no fatigue. Design wise there's nothing not to like. Again, this is roughly the size of the smaller Wonderboom but thankfully only weighs half as much making it much easier to carry around. Another thing I like better about this than my wonderboom is the rubber strip which runs down the center of the speaker's back. Whereas the Wonderboom's center was only distinguishable by the big + and - signs on its front (which I didn't like staring me in face) this uses that rear rubber spine to indicate which direction the speaker is oriented in-much more elegant and discreet. Finally, I also appreciate the rubber base on this speaker. It feels a little more stable and balanced especially when placing the speaker on uneven grass or sand. What I wish were different: I'd have wanted to buttons on the top to be a different color than their black background. As it is they hard to detect visually because there's no color contrast. I usually just end up feeling for them. Small thing, but a thing nonetheless. And that's it. My conclusion is that this is an insanely good speaker for the price. Do yourself a huge favor and stop looking at $50 / $100 speakers. They won't beat this one in any meaningful way except for maybe a touch more bass. ... show more

    • Fabulous Speaker (But good luck pairing them)
As director of our community's history museum, I needed a small Bluetooth speaker to hide inside a 1940s console radio/record player that no longer works. When I read that this speaker could be paired with a twin, I bought two so I could simultaneously have music in the main exhibit room. Like other reviewers, I have found this great little speaker a fantastic device. The sound is much better than I expected; the range from my iPhone is much greater than the more expensive speaker I used to have; and the compact size is perfect for tucking in out-of-the-way places. Perfect for our antique radio/record player! I especially like that I can wander around the museum with my iPhone in my pocket and the speaker is still within range, happily playing my iTunes library of big band and swing music. (Or Christmas tunes during the holidays!) I have played music for two days, 6 or more hours per day, and the battery still has a charge. BUT...despite following the instructions to the letter, I still cannot get the dance speakers to pair (or "master" and "slaver" mode as described in the instructions, "slave," I suppose, being a politically incorrect term nowadays). Granted the instructions are written in Chinglish, but even so, they are still pretty easy to understand. I asked a couple of our volunteers to try pairing them, and they couldn't do it either. So, one useful speaker is all I have and I seem to have wasted $20 on the other one. One more ever-so-slight negative: though this is not really a big deal, the four buttons are molded into the black top of the unit and unless I'm in good light, they are hard to differentiate. In short, a great little speaker, great value, great sound, long charge life, but take with a grain of salt the assertion you can supposedly pair a master speaker and a "slaver" speaker. ... show more

    • Great little speaker
I really like this portable speaker. The speakers in my car went out so I just bring this one with me for every drive. Connects fast to my phone. Sounds great. Gets loud. Use it all the time. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't tell me how much battery life is left until its almost out and starts beeping. The beeps are very loud. I know I could download an alternate app but it would be nice if it had the battery life on it. I would buy this one again if I had to but I don't see this breaking in along time.
