  • Thank you.
Color: Orange Size: 5/16" x 65'
The reflective banding braided in with the rest is blinding bright to the person holding the light source, which is a fantastic feature I liked. I haven’t done a thorough product test and will likely never reach its point of failure. I HAVE been cutting lengths, stitching, and making eye loops for use with hammocks. These needed to support 600 pounds of constant tension with hammocks, full packs, a person, and camping/hiking/climbing gear for upwards of 12 hours at a time, and have performed beautifully for me so far. The reflective tape has a VERY low melting point comparatively to the rest of the rope and seems to form a charred part that doesn’t stick as well with the other parts. The outer sheath melts next and will form little pearls at the ends that will collect with each other while shrinking away from where it was cut. The inner core melts last and will form a very hard plastic dome over the rest, also shrinking the rope. I recommend using heat resistant thread and wrapping several times with suture knots on both sides of where you intend to cut; then using a heat gun or hot air (not a lighter due to the addition of carbon residues) to gently melt the outer sheathing enough to prevent fraying and expansion; cutting with cable shears, large mouth wire cutters or flush cut dikes for a presentable end. Once this is done, I use adhesive lined heat shrink tubing to ensure that the end stays tight and will not gray; the heat gun or hot air will shrink the tubing, force the adhesive into the threads and melt the exposed end of the rope a little bit as well. I did find the the outer sheathing of the rope was like a set of pants that was a size to big and was baggy over the inner core and I had to pull the excess sever times before it felt like it was suitably tight over the core. I don’t know if this is intentional or an oversight during manufacturing but for my purposes, I needed it to be a very snug fit between the different parts BEFORE I made any modifications. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and will do so again when I run out of good quality rope. ... show more

  • Good rope for the price
Color: Orange Size: 5/16" x 65'
Good price. Packaged nicely. I was thinking that there would be no way that I would get the rope back in the bag; however I was able to get it back in without much trouble. I did not use the rope for arborist work, but instead used it in a pulley system to lift a large beam. The rope worked fine but did show some where afterwards. It is also fairly stiff but not too bad. One end started to fray which was surprising. I think it would work for occasional use but probably not something you should be use frequently if you are an arborist. ... show more

  • Wonderful rope for many uses
Color: Orange Size: 5/16" x 65'
I needed to get some larger tree branches cut down that were threatening to fall onto my house. Over the years, all of my other rope has all but given up being rope anymore. I needed something durable that could hold a good deal of weight, and this rope easily fit that bill. I was able to get it tied off to a healthier piece of the branch to be cut, and got the other end secured to the ground. After cutting the branch from the tree, the rope did a fantastic job of holding the cut piece in place until it could be lowered down. I would love to try it out with rock climbing, but where I live there aren't really any rocks to climb. There are some large speedbumps scattered about. I could try it out with some tree climbing though, but my upper body strength leaves a lot to be desired. I couldn't be happier with this rope, however. With its bright coloring, it makes it easy to find. It is smooth enough to not cut into your hands when using it, and the convenient carrying back holds it perfectly fine until needed. ... show more

  • Came in wet
Color: Orange Size: 5/16" x 65'
The rope seems good quality but the rope was wet when I got it, regardless of the plastic it is sealed with. Somehow there was moisture in there. I imagine they wrap it in plastic to avoid that....

  • Good utility line
Color: Orange Size: 5/16" x 65'
Used for tree work, seems sturdy, though I wouldn't use it to climb without certification, it really seems well made and strong.

  • Well Made STRONG Braided Rope Helped Fall a Tree
Color: Orange Size: 5/16" x 65'
I needed a STRONG lightweight rope to help me control the direction of a tree that I cut down and this rope worked perfectly with its 2,645 lbs tinsel strength. I'm sure that it will be superb in climbing or using for an anchor line but I had a different use for it. I was able to tie a weight on one end of the rope and throw it over a tree limb about 25' above ground. After I removed the weight I tied a loop in the end of the rope and passed the other end through it. Then I pulled the line tight to the limb. Next, I tied the free end of the rope to my tractor and backed away putting some pressure on the rope and pulling the tree towards me. The rope is 66' long and neither me nor the tractor was in the path of the tree that I was about to cut. So with the tight rope and the tractor brake set, I cranked my chain saw and got to work cutting the tree down. I know this is an abnormal method but the tree was not balanced and would have crashed into a beautiful pecan tree had I not changed its fall. The rope did the trick! ... show more

  • Don't use it for climbing
Color: Orange Size: 5/16" x 65'
The core and the sheath on this rope are not well connected so the core wiggles inside the sheath. I bought this as a backup line for some glacier travel while mountaineering. It worked fine as we took a few small falls on it, but honestly would not trust it with a load of more than 2-3 Kn.
