I read all the reviews and the only thing I could see that may be an issue was the taste of the first sets of ice cubes, so I ordered one and when it came in I used some water bottle cleaning tablets, dissolved 1 in a liter of water and poured it into the top of the ice maker and let it sit for about an hour. I drained it using the side drain line and then poured another liter of distilled water in the machine to rinse it out. I put my 5 gallon jug on top of it and it made ice cubes in like 10 minutes and the ice cubes were nicely shaped and sized plus they tasted like purified water, which I used in my 5 gallon jug. Think this ice maker is FANTASTIC!! It makes ice fast and I bag it up and put it in the freezer. No more buying ice cubes for me.!!!! ... show more

Great ice maker. Not a freezer to keep ice but re-circulates melted ice to make more. Doesn’t need water hook up but I use 3 gallon water jug for water supply. Makes ice fast and has been great for 7-8 person house

I like this ice maker and it works well. But there’s a few things that I wish it did. First, the taste of the water, even a month later still tastes like new copper. Second, the ice storage bin needs to be cooled. It makes a lot of ice, but it melts almost just as fast. But overall, very happy with the product for the price. ... show more

    • DON'T BUY!!! Broke within a few months!!!!
We bought this after our ice maker we had for 4 year broke down, it has been a mess since we purched this item and from the seller themselves. We contacted the seller after only a few months of having it when it stopped working all of a sudden and would not make ice and just completely shut off. When we contacted the seller they stated that they were unable to replace the item with a new item due to the factory being out of stock and out of the states. They then proceeded to tell us that they could only give us a part to fix it OURSELVES!!!! I mean what kind of company says they won't replace when its still under its first year of warranty and an a 5 year extended warranty was purchased!!!! Really guys please don't waste your time or money and buying this item and from buying from this seller. We have been going round and round with them and its to the point where we don't even want the replacement we just want a full refund. ... show more

    • Well worth the money
This ice maker is worth every penny! Once it gets going it really pumps out the ice!! (about 8 hours to get running at full ice making power). It is absolutely wonderful for camping trips, 2 days before we leave we start it up and by the time we head to camp our big pelican cooler is completely stuffed with ice. A bigger plus is if you have a generator you can bring it camping and keep everyones ice chests full!! This machine does not leak and it is very quiet. The only down side is after a month of use it stopped pulling water from the 5 gallon bottle, it still made ice but we had to fill the well for it to work. My husband being a true fixer of all things took it apart and found that the little black valve at the end of the clear hose had gotten clogged. So he cleaned it and put it back together and now its back to full ice production. We wanted an ice machine we could take outside for parties, take camping so we didn't have to go into town for ice and this ice maker fit all if our wishes. I am very glad we splurged on this ice maker, I would buy this one again. ... show more

    • Awesome ice machine
I have had many ice makers, smaller ones and after having this particular ice machine, I would not go back to the smaller machines. It’s a waste of money. Just make sure when I’m boxing it and after several uses I’d say weekly to follow directions on how to clean it properly or like my other icemakers which I did not clean properly quit on me. It has a huge hopper which door is the ice but it does not come with the container that sits on top that holds the water. It does have a small water reservoir so if you don’t have one of those plastic jugs you could put water inside of the machine itself and it will take the water from the reservoir to make ice. works ok leaks some of the time gets it to stop then working again so I would say I would check into this a bit better then what I did Not what I expected also the shipping back price is out rouse
