Description

The MyPet Extra Wide Windsor Arch Gate transforms any large openings in your home from precarious to protected in a snap! This doggy gate features an exclusive matte bronze finish and arched design, making this gate one of the most stylish door gates for pets. This gate opens easily with one hand and is capable of opening from either side of the barrier as well. The extra-wide 25.5" walk-through door panel features a double-locking system and gravity-fed hinge door that has a gentle close. The hold-open feature prevents the door from closing when it’s not needed. The quick release hinges allow the gate to be easily removed when the gate is not needed. This extra wide dog gate hardware mounts on straight walls, or can be angled to fit your space using pivot points on the gate panels and mounting hardware. This gate fits openings 38.3" to 72" wide, plus additional 15 inch extensions (sold separately under product number 4938) will expand the gate up to 162” wide. I am very pleased with this item. It not only keeps my puppy safe inside the room she is in, but it does so many other things that I am pleased with. First off, it's easy to install. Secondly it's very attractive and is not an eyesore for my living room, which is the first thing anyone sees upon entering the house. I love the color too and it blends nicely with my home. I like the fact that it stays open when you need it to. It's very convenient when I am bringing something through the doorway. No sharp edges, it's all very smooth and safe for my puppy. The bars are very close together and no danger of her trying to get out through them. She's small, only 4 pounds, so that is essential. It's tall enough that she can't jump over it and escape. We needed to block off the kitchen from the dog so the cats can have a space for themselves while also keeping him out of the litter box and their food. The installation was extremely easy, took the hubby just a couple of minutes from start to finish (granted he's far from a novice at the installation of things and compared to the other gate we installed, a different type of gate). The gate looks great. Our dog is a 65-pound 9-month-old lab mix. He has run full force into the gate, and while the bottom of the gate did move slightly it held fast and didn't give in to his weight and force. He also loves to stand on his hind legs and drape his front legs over the fan. He hasn't tried to jump this gate, but our other gate is the same height as the flat part and he can get over that one since he can use the wall to give his back legs a boost (he hasn't figured out how to jump up and over something, if he knew that, he could clear it no problem), so this may not work with tall dogs that are determined or simply smarter than my dog. All 3 of our cats, including our 14-year-old girl who's getting pretty frail can clear it no problem. My only complaint and this could be a safety issue if you are using this with children or a dog that figures out how to lift and pull the gate, is that the gate button gets stuck down. So while the gate is closed and locked, I can just lift up on the gate and open it. It will eventually pop back up. I even let it slam close to see if that would jar it back into place, but it doesn't. Overall I recommend it if you aren't using it for cats, tall or extremely jump dogs, or kids. I love this gate so much. Its sturdy and easy to install. Fit perfectly how I wanted it. Our dogs wont be able to get outside when we open the front door and our cats so far havent figured out how to jump over it. We have 2 cats, 2 pomeranians, and 1 standard poodle and this gate has no issues standing up against all of them 🤣 Perfect perfect perfect!!!! Update: April 11th 2022 I still absolutely love this gate! Everyone who comes over to visit always comments on how much they love it after they use the door If you need to move the gate but want to be able to put it back after you dont have to unscrew it from the wall or anything It has buttons you can push to lift it up off the wall anchors with ease I got a new couch and needed to move my gate for a minute Only took me a few seconds to move it out of the way and then when I was done put it back The door has a point where it will hold open if you want it left open otherwise it swings back shut which I love because it prevents me from unintentionally leaving the gate open I highly recommend this gate It was very much worth the purchase and if I ever needed another I would buy it again ... show more

I was able to install this gate within 30 minutes of opening the box. I spent more time gathering tools then the actual installation. A drill with a drill bit and a Phillips screwdriver. The gate is assembled in one piece so no putting things together except when attaching to the wall. It is well built and sturdy. I have a 74 lb Chocolate Lab and was a bit concerned at first, but it has been up for over a week and no problems. I have it installed between my kitchen and family room. the 'stay open' function is very nice when I want the dog to have free access. The gate will accommodate a 72" width. My opening was 68" and the gate simply angles the left and right pieces as you can see in the pictures. Once I angled the gate each side twist and 'locks' in place so the gate does not move except the door. After using this product for 10 months: Fantastic. It has been a great help in keeping our Chocolate Lab in a limited space when needed as she has a tendency to snip at our two cats if left unchecked while we are out.
