  • You have to use it to get used to it!!!
I purchased this item because my husband wanted me to try out egg rings. After reading the reviews, this one had the highest recommends so I purchased. Read the reviews so I sprayed the rings with nonstick cooking spray first, made sure I had out my square 12"x12" pan so I could do all 4 rings at once. I cracked the eggs & started to fill each one with an egg, like others have mentioned a small amount leaks out but stops rapidly enough. Then I broke the yolk since I was making egg breakfast sandwiches, then I picked up the holder handle & handle came up & off but nothing else, so I agree lose the handle & holder, just use the rings & tongs/flipper/etc. to lift up when ready. Sometimes the egg does still stick to the side but just take your flipper & scrap around the inside edge & this usually works well enough. Like a few of the other reviewers have mentioned better than the eggs running into each other, eggs fit better on the muffin, biscuit, or bagel. I have not used for pancakes because that's a baby pancake 3.5" & I prefer a nice large one. If I had it all over to do again, I would look for a single nonstick round frame with a nice 2-3" handle with a wooden knob on top. Cleanup is a breeze. 3 stars = it's OK. ... show more

  • THESE EGG RINGS ARE A VERY POOR PRODUCT - STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!
Sure wish I had read more of the reviews before I bought mine!! Please understand - I Don't Like to give bad ratings. In the eight years I've been buying online this is only the third or fourth negative rating I have written. If I'm not satisfied I normally work it out with the buyer, or just let it roll off my back and carry on. These rings are SO BAD a product though that I feel the Need to let people know to Stay Away From Them!!! They Don't Work At All!! After washing the rings I sat all four of them down in a Brand New 12" non-stick frying pan Its part of a brand new Quality Made set of stainless steel and ceramic nonstick pots and pans. I made sure that the rings were laying perfectly flat before I put any of the eggs into them. In order to give them a good hardy and fair try I decided to use all four of the rings. The very first egg Immediately Seeped under the ring and every one of the other three rings did the same thing. What I got for my trouble was One Big Mess!! Then when the eggs were cooked - None of the eggs came out of the ring as the products description said they would!! I was forced to run a plastic utensil around the inside edge of each of the four rings to free the eggs from the rings!! NONE of any part of the rings was nonstick!! Every one of the eggs stuck to the rings all the way around - all 360 degrees of each ring!! And as if That Wasn't Bad Enough - the portion of the eggs that seeped under the rings stuck to the center piece that the rings connect to. All I got for my trouble was One Big Mess & Money Down The Drain!!! I would send them back, but it would cost me most if not all of what I would get back!! Do Yourself And Your Wallet A Favor - Stay Away - Don't Buy These Rings - They Don't Work!!! I gave them 1 Star only, because there wasn't a lower rating!!! The rings are a good idea IF They Worked - Don't Waste Your Money - They Don't Work!!! ... show more

  • Rings Work Great, but Handle Melted
I really love this item but could not give it 5 stars as the handle melted. I mean its plastic on metal that is intended to get hot. The handle should be metal with a cool to the touch sheathing so you can handle it without getting burnt. The first time i used this to make two pancakes for my little one, it was great. the second time i used it on the griddle to make about 6 pancakes on our stove top griddle and noticed the plastic handle was really hot to the touch, making it uncomfortable to handle. Other than that the rings work as intended. i love that you have the option to use just 1, 2 or all 4 rings. our griddle holds 2 rings nicely with the handle, 3 without (since the other half of the griddle has grooves for bacon making and grilling). but now that the handle has melted my hubby is looking for a way to make it easy for me to remove the rings while cooking. ... show more

  • My granddaughter is happy now!!!!
Not long ago, my 5 year old granddaughter was visiting, and I made her an breakfast egg sandwich. She told me, "Grandma, the egg isn't round like I get at school." After looking at every store I could think of to purchase egg rings, and not being able to find them, I turned to Amazon.com. After looking at the numerous sets they have, and reading the reviews of all of them, I decided to purchase this set. And let me tell you, they are great. Like a lot of the reviews stated, I did spray a little non-stick spray in them. And to avoid leakage of the egg white under the ring, I did put the ring into the frying pan and heated it for about 30 seconds. And guess what?? I now have perfectly round fried eggs for my breakfast sandwiches. They fit perfectly on a muffin....just the right size. And they clean up easily, too. I must say, I have never tried the handle due to the fact that I never make more than 3 fried eggs at a time. But I have had no problem removing the ring using a pair of tongs. I am VERY happy with this product, and have recommended it to many people. I was very anxious for the next time my granddaughter came, so that I could make her a breakfast sandwich. And, needless to say, she was very surprised and happy. Just let me tell you, you can't go wrong with this set. ... show more

  • Great for small fried eggs and pancakes
After reading some of the reviews, I almost decided not to buy this egg/pancake ring. Took the plunge and bought it and I have had no problems because I do spray Pam on it before using and then have a spatula on hand in case help is needed in lifting the ring when eggs or pancakes are ready to turn. I was tired of eggs running into each other and the sometimes unattractive appearance for serving. So, the egg ring gets my vote! I have used the ring when I made pancakes and if you don't mind small pancakes, then the ring should work for you. I do use it more for frying eggs than pancakes. In my opinion, the benefit of not having "running" messy looking eggs outweighs the one or two minor cons of the egg ring. ... show more
