I have a black lab who gets dry skin. I had her on salmon oil, which worked fine, but I didn't want her on that forever. I have been switching her over to this and she's doing fine and her coat is beautiful. I also have a 19 yo cranky cat that I give literally a microdrop of this on her food. It's helped her coat as well and she seems to enjoy the taste. The bottle with screw cap...meh..it's not like you can pour a teaspoon of this as if it were cough syrup. The oil runs down the side of the bottle which is gross. I was able to retrofit a spare screw top pump from the salmon oil and that works excellent! I had tried a medical dropper but yuck..more oily mess. I plan to continue using this product for my pets bc the benefits outweigh the dosing inconvenience. ... show more

This is a very high quality supplement. Tried zesty paws salmon oil and my dog did not like the taste. I’ve been giving him the unflavored oil and put it directly on his food and he likes this one. His coat is thick and shiny.. he doesn’t shed very much either, which is rare for a German Shepherd. I think this oil has something to do with it. ... show more

I found a stray cat and took him in. He was in rough shape. His fur/coat was also really course. So I started these supplements and HOLY MOLY he’s a different cat! It 100% worked. And I know it’s the oil because I didn’t start him on it right away. Got him neutered, shots, and he got all cleaned up. His fur got better but it was still coarse. It was only after all that was done that I looked up what could help and found this suggestion online. I started the drops and his fur got really soft!! No one can believe he’s the same cat! I was truly surprised. Been recommending it to all of my friends. I drop the recommended amount in his wet food and mix it up. He has no issues with the flavor or anything. Eats it right up. Only flaw is that my dropper broke off within a week. I should have asked for an exchange but I didn’t want to have unnecessary shipping, it’s wasteful. I dealt with it (just had to be careful as I could still use the dropper) and now the bottle is done! I’m definitely ordering more. Fingers crossed the dropper isn’t faulty on all of them! ... show more

Comes in a UV protected glass bottle vs. plastic. Is poured not pumped. Contains only wild, sustainably fished anchovy and sardine oils preserved with dl-alpha-tocopherol, a synthetic form of vitamin E, a fat-soluble vitamin with potent antioxidant properties. Does not carry an NASC label but is third party tested for purity. It’s processed in Norway, distilled for purity under standards (according to the label) that surpass international standards, specifically the European Pharmacopoeia and World Health Organization. The company will provide you with a certificate of analysis if you request it. You can take advantage of overnight shipping when temps are cooler to avoid the oil being subjected to any extreme heat in transit. The bottle I received in 10/2022 has an expiration date of 4/2025 if left unopened. After you open the bottle, you must keep it refrigerated and use it within 90 days. When you open the bottle there is not even a hint of fishy smell. Just smells like oil. Can be given with your dog’s food or by itself. The 8 oz. bottle and the 16 oz. bottle contain the same formulation, that is, 1 teaspoon (5ml) = 736 mg EPA/ 506 mg DHA. The 8 oz. bottle gives feeding directions for medium to large dogs weighing between 20 lbs.-79 lbs. the 16 oz. bottle gives feeding directions for 79 lbs.-111+. If you have a larger dog but don’t want to buy the 16 oz bottle in case your dog won’t eat it, take a screen shot of the ‘Suggested daily use for dogs 20-100+ lbs.’ on the webpage so you’ll know what to feed your giant breed and buy the 8 oz. bottle instead. You won’t have to deal with messy unreliable pumps but pouring from a large bottle can be imprecise. Accidentally over-pouring and giving your dog too much oil can lead to GI disturbances, flatulence, diarrhea. If you have a small breed, dispensing from an amber glass eye dropper bottle might be an option. Our 100+ lb. Rottweiler will need 2 teaspoons (10 ml) per day. An eyedropper would be too tedious. We opted for a small 5.75 oz. ‘2 Pack Oil/Vinegar Cruet Glass Olive Oil Dispenser Bottle’ (sold on Amazon) with a drip proof spout. A small amount of fish oil can be poured into it from the larger bottle for daily use. The larger bottle stays in the fridge, is opened less frequently to prevent exposure to air/light/oxidation. The small, daily- use cruet, also refrigerated, is not UV protected but exposed to little light-only when the refrigerator door is opened. The spout makes it easy to control the pour onto a teaspoon and stir into his food. We got a 2-pack so that at the end of 90 days we can wash one cruet and air dry while starting fresh with a clean dry one. Does it work? Don’t know yet. We’re introducing using the same process as if we were changing his food-a little at a time and monitoring for GI disturbances. And after we work him up to full dosage, it will take about 6 weeks to see any effect. So, TBD… ... show more

    • Screw on Dropper Eliminated

This is a great product which has helped my cat's dry skin a lot. I'm writing this review because the last time I purchased this, it did not include the dropper that you can screw on to use as the top. For me it's not as bad because I'm using the screw dropper top from the last one that's empty, but for someone buying this for the first time, it's is much more inconvenient to have the dropper be separate. It's hard to clean the oil off and a pain to have to find a place to put the loose dropper that will probably leak oil onto whatever surface it's sitting on. Please go back to the original design with the dropper top. If it's back the next time I order the product, I'll remove this review. So product quality 5 stars, current bottle design 2 stars. ... show more
