    • ABSOLUTE GOAT
Keeps my I9 12900k idling at 20-25 Celsius. In every game I play, (Elden Ring, Cs2, AC6, BG3, etc..) My cpu is never above 50 degrees, while being dead quiet. I've seen it hit 70 degrees maybe once ever, and it was dissipated in a second. Absolute GOAT cooler.

    • Extremely quiet and effective cooler
I had recently upgraded my GPU to a 4080 and had to upgrade my stock cooler to account for the extra power and heat. Did a lot of research and this one was so highly rated and well priced I had a feeling I'd love it. Well packaged and very easy to understand instructions. I haven't changed a CPU cooler in probably 20 years so was a little nervous about it but it was super easy. Hardest part honestly was the tube of thermal paste was quite difficult to slowly push out the correct amount. I have an i5 12600kf (LGA 1700 socket) processor so need to use 5 dots of paste as opposed to 1, so I had to practice a bit on some paper to get a feel for it but it was still the most difficult part since it's so crucial to get it right for the heatsink to cool properly. Once I got it on and stress tested it with Cyberpunk 2077 at ultra settings with Ray Tracing turned all the way up, the highest temp I saw it reach was 63c but the average was in the mid 50s. I also have 7 case fans (3 intake in the front, 3 exhaust on the top and 1 exhaust in the back) so that helps a lot with it. All in all I'd recommend this to anyone and would definitely buy again.     • CPU at 41 Degrees Celcius in the Summer.
The NH-U12S Chromax Black CPU cooler keeps my i5-8600K (overclocked to 4.6GHz) cool at 41 degrees celcius during the California summer. It's very impressive. I purchased the U12S Chromax Black for two reasons: 1. Cooling ability without a water solution 2. All black color to go with my PC build color theme For three years, it's still going strong. No temperature change. The mounting was straight forward and not difficult to install like some other CPU air heatsinks. Note: If you are looking to purchase a new motherboard (i.e. Intel LGA 1700), you may need a new mounting kit depending on when you purchased it. They state it very clearly on their website if you will need a new mounting kit. If you purchased after a specific date, then it already comes with a mounting kit for LGA 1700. This one is an impressive and easy recommendation, especially if you prefer air type solution for cooling your CPU. ... show more

I was using the included cooler with my i5 12600 and was thermal throttling whilst playing The Isle on UE5. After swapping to this cooler, I stayed below 70C the whole time. Absolutely loved it!

    • Great cooling per dollar
While the install isn't exactly the easiest thing, it's mostly due to the CPU type rather than the cooler. Replaced a standard $20 Cooler Master with this, and I'm seeing about 20C lower temps. Very solid performance, plus included thermal paste gets this my recommendation.
