SSO2 Bearing The NF-A4x10 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua's renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability. Reduced motor hub size This allows for more blade surface area and thus contributes to the NF-A4x10's superior airflow and pressure performance. • I built this into my T-shirt. Works Great.
I have been scouring the internet looking for a low noise fan to install into my T-shirt at work. My office does not have air conditioning and it tends to get very hot in my cubicle. I previously had designed a shirt with a larger PC fan in it, but my cubicle neighbor Nancy complained because of the large noise coming from it. I got a stern talking to from management who found my actions strange. I felt like they were gas lighting me into thinking it is wrong somehow to install a fan into my shirt. Anyway, with some swift negotiating I convinced them to let me create a new version of my shirt fan as long as it was not disturbing my teammates and not breaking the dress code. The Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX Fan was the perfect solution. It is very small. Quiet. And very strong. I now have the wires sewed into the seams of most of my T-shirt I wear to work and water proofed the connector so I can detach the fan before I wash my shirts. All I have to do now is sit down at my work computer and plug my shirt into my computer! My productivity has increased 10 fold and I think management is starting to take notice. I went from getting strange looks, to no one at all looking at me. During the next quarter company meeting, I am going to bring this up to our regional manager and see if we can get everyone in the company using my T-shirt fans. ... show more

  • The most beautiful yet ugly fan ever
Noctua fans have always looked pretty ugly to me but their performance is downright beautiful. These are silent unless you have your ear inches from it and the airflow is solid. I am using these in my 24v Ender 3 Pro with a buck driver to drop the voltage down to 12v. They don't quite move as much air as the 24v ball bearing upgrade fans but they produce an easy 1/4 of the audible sound and I fully trust that they will last for years and that is important. I run these on my printer in the stock hotend housing and a Micro Swiss hotend and after a PID autotune the temps are wonderfully stable and reliable. However for my application I had to replace the stock fan screws with slightly longer ones so they would reach the mounts solidly. They also work great as a replacement for the stock motherboard fan with no modification other than a 12v buck driver. I power my motherboard fan off the hotend fan header as opposed to the original design that powered it off the parts cooling fan so it is on whenever the hotened is heated because I noticed it never ran while I was printing ABS due to the parts fan being off. ... show more

  • The BEST 40mm fan out there
This is such a great upgrade for my 3D Printer and made my extruder cooling fan have ZERO noise. I replaced my loud old 40mm fan on my 3D printer with this and didn't change anything about print quality but for sure made it a huge difference on sound. With it being so quiet it doesn't push as much air but still does a decent amount for its size as all Noctua fans do. The rubber isolating mounts on the fan make it great so that the vibration doesn't go into the metal and create more sound. The fan comes with many different adapters and mounting screws to fit your needs. Noctua has always made great fans and I will always have my trust in them with all the fans I have bought from them. Pros - Silent - Moves a decent amount of air still - Anti vibration - Many different cable adapters to fit your needs - Screws and rubber mounts Cons - None ... show more

  • Super quiet - Premium fan
Amazing fan. This thing is super quiet. I bought it to replace a 40mm fan in my 3D printer, and I couldn't even tell this thing was spinning when I powered it up the first time. I thought something was wrong, but it was working just fine. That's how quiet this is. With my old fan, the fan noise was the primary sound you heard when the 3D printer was running. This fan makes my stepper motors seem extra loud, but in reality I'm just taking the constant fan drone out of the picture. This fan does a lot with the aerodynamics of the blades and housing to maintain airflow, but also reduce noise. There are integrated noise isolation pads on the corners of the fan to avoid transmitting vibrations into whatever it's mounted to, further reducing the sound from this fan. I didn't use them for my application, but they even include silicone mounts to completely avoid any screws or hard contact with the frame when mounting the fan. This man has been engineered to be extremely quiet and still meet the performance expectations for air flow. The packaging reflects the premium level of quality of the fan. The accessories and connectors included pretty much make this compatible for any use out of the box. It's all pros for this fan. I don't have any cons other than in not a fan of the Noctua color scheme. This fan is worth it if you are looking for something silent with premium quality. This fan is worth the cost. In reality, yes they cost more than generic fans of this same size, but the cost difference is made up for in the silence and quality that this fan gives you. I would recommend this to anyone. ... show more

  • FAN-TASTIC!! (See what I did there?) ;-)
I bought this fan as a replacement for an essential oils diffuser after the first one wore out. This was the second replacement fan that I bought. The reason why is because the first one that I bought worked fine, but was WAY too loud. It was cheap, so I got what I paid for. Since we use the diffuser in our bedroom in the evening, the sound was very annoying. So, I decided to look for a quieter option. I found this fan and it had good reviews, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Truth is, this fan is WAAAAAY nicer than I expected. It comes with several adapters, including a 3 to 2 wire adapter for high speed only. One of the adapters plugged right into the unit. It also comes with some nice sound/vibration dampeners, which I didn't need, but still a nice feature. Bottom line, this fan works better than the original OEM fan and is so quiet, all I can hear is the trickling of the water inside the unit. Seriously though, it's right next to our bed and you can barely hear it. It's more likely that it's just the actual air moving that I hear. Very nice, very happy. ... show more
