This could be the best flat iron I have ever purchased. I have had nearly every popular flat iron brand over the last 25+ yrs. I have had CHI, FHI, Sedu, Babyliss, Rusk, HSI, and a lot of lesser known brands in between. The main thing I have noticed is that my hair responds best to tourmaline irons, which have been using over the past decade, but they have become increasingly harder to find and more EXPENSIVE. Enter Nition. The last good flat iron I had was a Sedu tourmaline and prior to that Babyliss tourmaline. The Sedu I purchased was used after I tried some generic flat irons which burned and fried my hair. I was struggling to find an iron that my hair would respond to. After some time, the Sedu stopped working and I was back on the hunt. I purchased two other brands from Amazon that were just awful for my hair. I took a stab at purchasing the Nition after reading a number of positive reviews. Admittedly, I didn’t have very high hopes because the price was so affordable (sad, I know). Upon its arrival I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t really get excited about packaging, but wow was I blown away by the presentation. The storage/cooling case and the glove was such a nice touch. It honestly is something that I would expect from a more high-end product. The iron itself is sleek and lightweight with a pretty LED digital temperature control dial at the base. But most of all. The performance is phenomenal. I have fine AA hair that normally does not curl tightly. I can generally get a “bend”, but a full curl is nearly impossible for me. This iron also heats up very fas, so very little wait time. The other thing is my hair is generally pretty shiny on its own, but I have had some irons that have made my hair look dull. This one not only adds shine, but it keeps the frizz away also. Finally, my hair doesn’t feel dried out farted days of daily usage. I honestly love this iron. I look forward to how quickly I can curl my short pixie. It just works so well. I only had one con with my purchase and that was the the temperature control skipped several increments. I could manage to make it work for me, and initially I thought it was a feature, but I read that it might be a design flaw. After three months, I decided I would reach out to customer service about the matter. To be honest, I didn’t really expect to get a response. And since it wasn’t “broken” and I like it so well, I probably would not have been very upset if I did not get a response-but wow. Last Wednesday I emailed customer service about my issue. Within two hours, I got a response back from the after sales rep, Rain. She was so kind and accommodating in her email. She didn’t hesitate to to start working on my replacement immediately, since it was still under warranty. She asked me for some information that I provided quickly and she immediately processed my replacement. I couldn’t believe that Saturday, before 12:00 pm, I had received my replacement. It’s working perfectly. I must say this has to be the best purchasing experience I have ever had. This is the longest review I have ever written, which says a lot because I am usually kinda lazy about reviewing products. I just want everyone to buy this product so that it will always be around! The product is wonderful, but the level of customer service that I received was phenomenal. Well, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. This is my second time buying this product, the first o e the locking mechanism broke and wouldn’t lock my straightener. The bag it comes with lasts forever, the clips are awesome and useful for long medium and short hair. The glove is great for when you’re doing heavier maintenance on your hair. The color is pretty it looks almost expensive. The digital commands are easy to edit. It’s great! The only reason I bought a second one is I left it behind on a trip. I will continue to use this brand for all future heat appliances for my hair. ... show more

    • Amazing customer service!! Awesome straightener!

The media could not be loaded. Edit: the company reached out to me after my review and immediately apologized for the malfunction and sent a newer addition that closes with a silicone tip instead of a locking mechanism. I received the new device within a week and it works amazingly. All they asked was a video of the old one showing what was wrong, sent directly to them, so that there was no charge or hassle of shipping it back. Genuinely couldn't have had better customer service provided. Thank you Nition! I have had this as a Christmas present Dec 2023, so only five months. I keep it in the heat protector bag it comes with I wrap the cord the way it was found. I still have the glove and comb tucked away with it. I absolutely love this thing, I haven't learned how to curl with it yet but I have not given myself the time too. Today May 28 2024, a mere five months later, I found that the lock mechanism isn't working and I cannot close it all the way in order to straighten my hair. I will contact the company and update later. $50+ for a device to break in 5 months is sad. The cheaper hair straightener I had before for 6ish years I treated with less regard and never had an issue with. So I am a bit disappointed. ... show more

I bought this flat iron for my daughter nearly five years ago and we've taken turns using it since then. After all this time, it's still going strong. It heats up quickly and does a great job straightening hair. My hair moves smoothly between the plates and I don't have any issues with static. The locking mechanism makes it convenient to store in a drawer or pack in a suitcase. After five years of use between my daughter and I, the outer appearance still looks brand new. Very pleased with how nicely this product has held up. I should've bought my own back then because now the price has increased and I'll have to pay nearly double what I paid for it 5 years ago. ... show more

This is a great straightener that gets the job done. For reference I have shorter, thick semi wavy hair. I straighten my hair daily (I know terrible lol) but it makes my hair smooth and not frizzy. The reasoning for the 3 stars is, I just bought this last June (2023) and as of today, it won’t heat up higher than 265. 😢. So just about a year and it doesn’t work anymore. I would buy again but I don’t want to keep replacing it after a year. ... show more
